Rivers State Contingent Set to Make a Mark at Abuja International Carnival 2024
The Rivers State contingent, led by Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Israel Lebura Ngbuelo, is poised to make a significant impact at the Abuja International Carnival 2024. The contingent's impressive parade, which took place at the opening ceremony, showcased the rich cultural heritage of Rivers State.
The Rivers State contingent, comprising diverse cultural groups from various local government areas, stunned the audience with their vibrant costumes and performances. As they marched through the major streets of Abuja, they demonstrated the state's commitment to preserving and promoting its cultural heritage.
According to Dr. Ngbuelo, the Rivers State contingent is fully prepared to emerge victorious in all categories of the carnival. He attributed this confidence to the contingent's rigorous rehearsals, which he personally supervised, and the state government's provision of necessary resources.
Dr. Ngbuelo emphasized that Rivers State remains a top destination for tourism, art, and culture, thanks to Governor Siminalayi Fubara's commitment to the sector. The governor's plans to establish an Art and Culture Training School, revive the Rex Lawson Cultural Centre, and restore the tourist beach in old Port Harcourt are expected to attract more investments to the state.
Dr. Ngbuelo also highlighted Governor Fubara's security architecture and commitment to protecting lives and property, making Rivers State a safer destination for investors, particularly in the cultural and tourism sector.
The highlight of the Rivers State contingent's performance took place at Eagle Square, Abuja, where they mesmerized the audience with their vibrant display.
Dignitaries in attendance included Hon. Dr. Awaji-Inombek Abiante and the Rivers State Commissioner for Physical and Urban Development and others top Rivers State Government functionaries.
