The events include Para-Taekwondo, Para-Karate, Para-Shooting, Para-Powerlifting, Para-Athletics (track and field), and Amputee Football.

Dr. Murtala Musa added that the athletes are highly motivated and determined to showcase their talents in order to elevate the status of Kano State.

He further explained that the team will use this competition as preparation for the 2026 National Sports Festival.

He emphasized that Kano has a strong track record in such competitions and expressed confidence that they will achieve success again this time, thanks to the support from the state government.

The National Para Games bring together athletes from the 36 states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), serving as a platform to showcase talent, promote unity, and develop inclusive sports.

Re: Allegations of Harassment and Abuse Against the General Manager of Barau FC

Barau FC has noted with concern a publication making allegations of harassment and abuse against the club’s General Manager, Dominic Iorfa.

The club wishes to categorically state that the claims are misleading, mischievous, and clearly intended to undermine the progress and stability of the team.
For the record, Dominic Iorfa is widely known as a respected football administrator who has maintained a cordial and professional working relationship with players, coaches, and members of staff throughout his time in football management.

The allegations suggesting that he harasses or abuses staff and players are unfounded and do not reflect the reality within the club.

It is also inaccurate to suggest that the General Manager is running the club with a select group of close associates. The current structure of the club remains intact, and the management continues to work with the same personnel within the team while striving to achieve positive results and improve the club’s performance.
Regarding the issue of suspensions mentioned in the report, Barau FC operates strictly under established rules and regulations.

Any staff member or player found to have violated the club’s code of conduct is subject to disciplinary measures in line with the club’s policies.

This is standard administrative practice in any professional football organization.

Furthermore, the attempt to bring up past issues between Dominic Iorfa and the Benue State Government is a clear act of misinformation and misdirection. It is a matter of public record that Iorfa had previously raised concerns about funds owed to him by the Benue State

Government for expenses he personally incurred while managing the club at the time.
Those financial obligations remain unresolved to this day, and the matter has no connection whatsoever with the present allegations being circulated.

Barau FC therefore urges individuals and medi

Barau FC Reconciles with Aggrieved SWAN Member, Reaffirms Commitment to Stronger Collaboration

Barau FC has reaffirmed its cordial and productive relationship with the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kano State chapter, pledging renewed collaboration to advance sports development in the state.

This assurance was given by the club’s General Manager, Dominic Iorfa, during a press conference held on Saturday in Kano. The briefing followed a recent misunderstanding involving the club’s Technical Adviser, Eugene Agagbe, and a SWAN member, Aminu Halilu Tudun Wada.
Iorfa dismissed allegations suggesting a rift between the club and SWAN, describing such reports as unfounded and misleading. He emphasized that Barau FC holds sports journalists in high regard, recognizing them as critical stakeholders in the growth, promotion, and development of football in Kano State and beyond.

In a move aimed at strengthening ties and fostering better media relations, the General Manager announced the appointment of Aminu Halilu Tudun Wada to work closely with Technical Adviser Eugene Agagbe.

The collaboration is expected to enhance media engagement and promote the activities of the coaching crew more effectively.

Speaking at the event, Coach Eugene Agagbe described Aminu Tudun Wada as a seasoned and professional journalist.

He clarified that he never intended to intimidate or undermine him in the discharge of his duties, stressing that the incident was purely a misunderstanding.
The press conference, which featured interactive sessions, was attended by journalists and officials of Barau FC.

The engagement marked a renewed spirit of unity, mutual respect, and cooperation between the club and the sports media community.
