"My Comments Were Not Intended To Cause PaĂn To Mrs. May Edochie. I Spoke About My Own FaĂled Marriage Too. My Words Were Misinterpreted".
..........Days after her podcast episode where she lĂ shed out at hypocrĂtes condemning Yul Edochie for marrying a second wife and making Regina Daniels the queen, Yvonne Jegede, even though she acknowledged that they will come for her over her statement "I know They Will Come For Me" has now made a U turn pening down a public apology to
May Edochie and her fans over her remarks on the show.

"My Apology and Clarification on the Recent Podcast Interview

Lagos, Nigeria - June 11, 2024 - I, Yvonne Jegede, would like to address the concerns and backlash that have arisen from my recent interview on the HONEST BUNCH podcast, where I Discussed themes related to my latest film on Amazon Prime, "A Father's LOVE."

Upon reflecting on the interview, I realize that my words were not articulated in a way that conveyed my true intentions and have been misconstrued as insensitive, particularly towards Mrs. May Edochie, a woman who has endured significant pain and hardship occasioned by estranged marriage. I deeply regret that my comments were perceived as adding to her distress. It was never my intention to cause any pain or disrespect. I am truly sorry.

My intention in the interview was to highlight the important societal issues depicted in my film, which tells the story of aman raising four children who are not biologically his own. Iwas excited to address this societal issue through my film. However, in the process of discussing these themes, my words were misinterpreted. I spoke about my own failed marriage andthe struggles of single mothers, aiming to shed light on the challenges.

I want to clarify that my remarks about polygamy were meant to reflect its cultural context and to emphasize that how it is practiced is crucial. My goal was to convey that polygamy is part of our culture, but what matters is how it is approached. Unfortunately, this message was lost in my articulation.

I want to stress that my comments were not intended to trivializethe pain of Mrs. May Edochie or any woman going through.

I do not claim to have advanced knowledge of the personal circumstances between Yul Edochie and his ex wife. I aimed to communicate that we all make wrong decisions and sometimes, those decisions happen in marriages, and we should do something about them instead of enduring perpetual pain. In doing something about it, some people, separate, some divorce while some seek the help of professionals.

I firmly believe that everyone deserves love, attention, and care most especially women. I apologize if my statements did not effectively convey this sentiment. I am grateful for the opportunity to clarify my intentions and express my sincere apologies to anyone who was hĂşrt by my words.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

I Gave My Dad My Only Car 13 Years After He Sold His Taxi To Pay For My Exams - Tunde Onakoya

Tunde Onakoya, the chess master, has revealed how his father sold his car to fund his education 13 years ago.

Onakoya recalled his humble beginnings in a recent post via X while celebrating his new feat as the ambassador for Nord Motion, the automobile company.

The chess champion disclosed that Onakoya Olugbenga, his dad, “sacrificed everything” and sold his taxi to pay his examination fees.

He said he would later compensate his father by gifting him his only car before traveling to the United States.

Onakoya also revealed that he was gifted a new car and made Nord’s ambassador after defeating Oluwatobi Ajayi, the firm’s CEO, in a chess match.

“Just before I traveled to America, I called my dad and gave him my only car. He had sold his taxi 13 years ago so I could pay for my WAEC and JAMB examination fees,” he wrote.

“The joy on his face brought tears — it was the least I could do for my parents who sacrificed everything so I could get an education.

“It wasn’t clear how I was going to get a new car without spending a fortune but I had faith. Yesterday, I got a call from , the CEO of , inviting me to his office for a chat and a chess match.

“During our conversation, he proposed an outrageous deal: if I could beat him, I could choose any car in their showroom for free.

“Knowing he was a strong chess player from our previous game analyses (although we had never played before), I accepted the challenge. After about an hour of intense play, I managed to win from a very complex position.

“This all still feels surreal, but I’m thrilled to announce that I am now a global brand ambassador for motors and the proud owner of a NORD A7 suv built and assembled in Nigeria.

“Life really isn’t scripted, and I’m super grateful to be able to use my gift to inspire the world and affect lives positively.”

The ‘Chess In Slums Africa’ founder earlier revealed that his father worked as a bus conductor so they could feed and survive.

On April 17, Onakoya commenced his attempt to break the world record for the longest chess marathon.

He achieved the feat on April 20 at Times Square in New York City after playing for over 58 hours and winning every match.

He earlier disclosed that he grew up in the slums, adding that playing chess allowed him to discover his potential.

The chess master’s dad recently revealed that he had wanted his son to become a doctor.
