Awori Week in London 2025: A Historic Convergence of Awori Heritage and Identity

The Coalition of Aworis and Descendants in Diaspora (CANDID) is proudly hosting Awori Week in London 2025, a truly historic convergence of Aworis from distinguished towns and villages across Aworiland.

The celebration and propagation of our timeless identity, “Awori Laa”, has taken root firmly on the global stage. Barely a month ago, Aworis came together at Burgess Park, London, for the Awori Picnic, a successful cultural outing that showcased the beauty of Awori heritage through unity, tradition, and values.

Now, at the ongoing Awori Week in London, His Majesty, Professor Adeyemi Obalanlege, Ph.D(Lanlege Ekun II, Arole Iganmode, Olofin Apesin Olode), Olota of the Ancient and Paramount Otta, Aworiland, joined other revered and respected Awori monarchs, prominent chiefs, distinguished stakeholders, and well-wishers for yet another remarkable platform to project and celebrate the rich Awori identity, “Awori Laa”, before the world.

CRIME WATCH: Rilwan Nasiru, Sodiq Taiwo and 20 Year Old Oladimeji Arrested For Kill!ng Uber Driver

They booked for an Uber ride around 10:20 pm recently. This Medical Doctor Morenikeji Oluwaniyi was using his vehicle for Uber transport to make ends meet.

They lured him to Meiran area of Lagos and strangled him from behind, they dumped his body at the Abule Egba bridge along Lagos Abeokuta expressway and made away with his Toyota Corolla car.

Unkown to them, the car had a tracker and they were tracked down”.

Engr. Tunji Akinosi, FNSE, Honourable Member representing Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency, has continued to distinguish himself through a style of representation that is constitutional, transparent, and people-oriented.

Over the past two years, his stewardship has been marked by tangible projects and impactful programmes. In the education sector, he has renovated existing schools and facilitated the construction of new ones, thereby strengthening the foundation of learning in the constituency. He has also distributed educational materials to public schools, ensuring that pupils and students are better equipped to excel. Notably, these interventions were delivered with humility, devoid of unnecessary fanfare or waste of public resources, an approach that sets him apart from many public office holders.

Infrastructure development has also received his attention. A prime example is the construction of a major road project in Igbesa, which has been commissioned and is already serving residents. The road has brought ease of movement, economic relief, and renewed hope to the community, with constituents acknowledging and appreciating his commitment to meaningful representation.

In addition, Engr. Akinosi has placed strong emphasis on youth and women empowerment. He has facilitated vocational and entrepreneurial training for young people, equipping them with the skills and tools needed to thrive in today’s competitive economy. Women across the constituency have equally benefited from empowerment initiatives, ranging from financial support for small-scale trading to skill acquisition programmes in fashion design, catering, soap production, and agribusiness.
