Oba of Benin Praises Nnamdi Kanu, Describes Him as “A Man History Will Never Forget”
The Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty Oba Ewuare II, has joined the growing list of prominent monarchs who have spoken about the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
In a statement reportedly made during a palace address, the revered monarch expressed deep admiration for Kanu’s resilience and sacrifice, describing him as a rare African figure whose legacy will endure through time.
The monarch further noted that Kanu’s actions have challenged stereotypes and fostered unity across ethnic divides in the South-East and South-South regions.
According to Oba Ewuare II, despite facing relentless criticism and imprisonment, Kanu’s steadfastness has turned him into a symbol of courage and unity for the Igbo people
The statement has since sparked widespread reactions across social and political circles, further amplifying calls for Kanu’s release.
