EFCC-ZTC UDUS Calls for Submission of Petitions on Corruption Cases

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission- Zero Tolerance for Corruption (EFCC-ZTC), Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS) Chapter, has called on students to submit petitions concerning cases of embezzlement and financial mismanagement within student organizations.
In a press release obtained by Vanguard Press, the club reiterated its commitment to tackling corruption, stating:
“In our relentless efforts to cut the menace of corruption across Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto and Nigeria as a whole, we are hereby encouraging and informing the students of this great university that Zero Tolerance for Corruption Club stands tall on the verge of fighting corruption”.
Students have been urged to review financial activities within their associations, clubs, faculties, and other student bodies to identify any cases of fund embezzlement. The club assured that necessary actions would be taken against any individual found guilty.
To ensure proper documentation, the club emphasized that petitions must contain:
Title of the petition
Content of the petition
Facts and supporting documents
Signature and phone number of the petitioner
It further warned that:
“All election committees and stakeholders of all parties should note that any student confirmed of embezzling students’ funds or mismanaging an office is hereby disqualified to contest for any office across the university.”
Speaking exclusively with Vanguard Press, Muhammad Habibat Sani, Chairperson of the Investigative Committee, emphasized the need for transparency and accountability.
“If we must build a responsible student leadership, we must take a firm stand against corruption. Financial mismanagement deprives students of the benefits they deserve. This is why we are committed to ensuring that every report is properly investigated and necessary actions are taken.”
She encouraged students to submit credible and well-documented petitions, assuring them that the committee would handle every case with due diligence.
