Saudi Entry Visa Now Bears Drug Trafficking Warning

The Saudi authorities have introduced a new stamp on entry visas, carrying a bold warning against drug trafficking.

The stamp, written in both Arabic and English, clearly states: “DRUG TRAFFICKERS FACE DEATH PENALTY IN SAUDI ARABIA.”

The measure is aimed at reminding travelers of the country’s strict anti-drug laws, under which trafficking attracts the death penalty.

National Assembly Bars Senator Natasha’s Resumption Despite Expired Suspension

The National Assembly has said Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan cannot resume office, despite the expiration of her six-month suspension.

The Kogi Central senator had written to notify the Assembly of her suspension’s expiry and her intention to return. However, the Acting Clerk to the National Assembly, Yahaya Danzaria, in response, explained that the suspension, which took effect on March 6, 2025, is still a subject of litigation at the Court of Appeal.

He noted that until the judicial process is concluded and the Senate formally reviews the court’s pronouncement, no administrative action can be taken to facilitate her return.

Senator Natasha had earlier attempted to resume on July 12, following a Federal High Court judgment asking the Senate to review her suspension, but was denied entry. Both she and the National Assembly have appealed portions of that judgment, now pending before the Court of Appeal.
