TEARS OF AKUNNE: THE RIVER QUEEN
Episode 6 — Wrath of the River Spirit
The entire forest shook violently as the ancient River Spirit rose from the raging waters.
The warriors screamed in terror and stumbled backward.
Some dropped their spears and fled immediately.
The giant spirit towered above the river like a god of vengeance, its glowing blue eyes burning through the darkness.
Akunne stood frozen.
The necklace around her neck glowed brighter than ever before, and suddenly the spirit turned toward her.
Then—
It bowed.
Everyone gasped.
Even Chief Odogwu’s face turned pale with fear.
“No…” he whispered. “Impossible.”
The priest Eze-Mmuo fell to his knees trembling.
“The river has accepted her…”
Akunne could barely breathe.
The spirit slowly stretched out its hand toward her as strange symbols appeared on the surface of the water.
Then a voice echoed inside her mind:
“Your blood carries the power of the river.”
“You must choose… revenge or restoration.”
Akunne’s eyes filled with tears.
All her life, the village had humiliated her, cursed her family, and hunted her like an animal.
Part of her wanted revenge.
But another part remembered her mother’s kindness.
Suddenly, Chief Odogwu shouted angrily:
“Kill her now!”
The remaining warriors charged forward with spears and torches.
But before they could reach Akunne—
BOOOOOM!
The River Spirit slammed its staff into the water.
Massive waves exploded across the cave entrance, throwing warriors into the air.
Lightning flashed across the skies.
The river roared like a living beast.
D**e quickly protected Akunne from falling rocks as chaos erupted everywhere.
Then something shocking happened.
Chief Odogwu grabbed a spear himself and rushed toward Akunne with murderous rage.
“You should have died with your bloodline!” he screamed.
Akunne froze in fear.
But just before the spear could touch her—
The glowing necklace unleashed a burst of blue energy.
WHOOOOSH!
Chief Odogwu was thrown violently across the rocks.
The villagers gasped in horror.
Akunne stared at her trembling hands.
“I… I didn’t mean to…”
Chief Odogwu groaned painfully on the ground, shocked that the river itself had defended her.
Then Nneka stepped forward slowly.
“The spirits have made their choice,” she declared loudly.
“She is the true River Queen.”
Silence fell over everyone.
Some villagers slowly knelt before Akunne in fear.
Others still looked at her with hatred.
But deep inside the shadows of the cave…
A hidden figure watched everything carefully.
A mysterious woman dressed completely in black.
Her eyes burned with jealousy and anger as she whispered:
“So… the queen has finally returned.”
She slowly revealed a dark magical bracelet glowing with red fire.
“But the throne belongs to me now.”
As thunder crashed across the skies, the woman disappeared into the darkness.
Unknown to Akunne…
A far more dangerous enemy had just arrived.
