Grow through mistakes

'Admit your faults...and pray for each other.'

We all make mistakes, misjudge issues and mess up at some point. We're all human. The truth is that mistakes are one of the major ways we learn and grow wiser. But because of our fear of being criticised or losing face, we often attempt to hide our mistakes. The only real calamity about mistakes is if you don't learn something from them. Failing to admit a mistake blocks the path to growth. Listen to the words of the Lord when he admonished the Israelites to learn from their mistakes: 'Jeremiah, say to the people, "This is what the Lord says: 'When people fall down, don't they get up again? When they discover they're on the wrong road, don't they turn back'"' (Jeremiah 8:4 NLT)?

It's a relief to you and an inspiration to others when you can acknowledge your mistakes without being defined or derailed by them. Circumstances and other people may have swayed your decisions, but in the end, you are responsible for what you do. When you make a mistake, the action you take is - your choice. The best approach for dealing with your mistake is to accept complete responsibility, learn from it, decide how not to repeat it, and go on.

Interestingly, other people will connect with you more and even respect you more when you are able to acknowledge your weaknesses. And it sets them free to do the same thing. Humility is one of the attributes that people esteem in others; pride is hated - even by other proud people.

GET ON THE BUS

Are you in 'the school of hard knocks'? Are you wondering, 'Why am I going through this?' Because God is more interested in your character than your comfort!

Patsy Clairmont writes: 'Jason, our youngest, has two goals in life. One is to have fun, and the other is to rest. And he does both quite well. So I shouldn't have been surprised by what happened when I sent him to school one fall day. As Jason headed off for the bus, I busied myself, preparing for a full day. The knock on the door was a surprise and disruptive to my morning rhythm, which is not something I have a lot of. I flew to the door, je**ed it open, only to find myself looking at Jason. "What are you doing here?" I demanded. "I've quit school," he announced. "Quit school?" I repeated in disbelief, at a decibel level too high for human ears. Swallowing once, I tried to remember some motherly psychology. But all that came to my mind was "A stitch in time saves nine" and "Starve a fever, feed a cold"...Somehow, they didn't seem to apply to a six-year-old drop-out dilemma. So I questioned, "Why have you quit school?" Without hesitation he proclaimed, "It's too long, it's too hard, and it's too boring!" "Jason," I instantly retorted, "you've just described life. Get on the bus!"'

The Bible says, 'If you suffer for doing good and...endure it...this is commendable before God' (1 Peter 2:20 NIV). When you're in 'the school of hard knocks', rejoice - God is training you for better things! So, get on the bus!

Journey with your children.

'I will live in my own home with integrity.' Psalm 101:2 GWT

The Bible says: 'Every year Jesus' parents went to Jerusalem for the Passover festival. When Jesus was twelve years old, they attended the festival as usual. After the celebration was over, they started home to Nazareth, but Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem. His parents didn't miss him at first, because they assumed he was among the other travellers. But when he didn't show up that evening, they started looking for him' (Luke 2:41-44 NLT).

This story has a happy ending because Jesus' parents found him. But it doesn't always turn out that way. Don't 'assume' your children are okay. Today they have access to so much over the internet that can take them on unhealthy and dangerous paths. This should concern you. Jesus said Satan comes to 'steal...kill, and...destroy' (John 10:10 NKJV). Don't let him have your family.

After being set free from demons, a man wanted to travel with Jesus as his disciple. But Jesus said, 'Go back home to your family and tell them what the Lord has done for you' (see Luke 8:39). Your dream job or house will feel empty if you lose your children. If you're on the road to success and not bringing your family with you, make a u-turn! Go back and get those who matter most. Commit yourself to making the journey only if it includes them. Pray with the psalmist, 'I need your help, especially in my own home, where I long to act as I should' (Psalm 101:2 TLB). Don't assume your children are okay - be sure they are.

DO WHAT'S RIGHT
Friday 5th September, 2025.

'If our consciences are clear, we can come to the Lord.' 1 John 3:21 TLB

When you wilfully do wrong, you experience anxiety, stress and insecurity. '"There is no peace," says the Lord, "for the wicked"' (Isaiah 48:22 NKJV). When you choose a plan of action incompatible with what you believe to be right, you forfeit your peace of mind. For instance, a person may accept a job or duty that forces them to do something against their spiritual convictions or conscience. Numerous people have faced the predicament of compromising their values to get a promotion or other advantage. To them at the time, it looked like their only option. 'There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death' (Proverbs 16:25 NKJV). This is when a strong spiritual foundation is essential.

It takes faith and bravery to let your convictions direct your behaviour and choices. The truth is that God is ultimately responsible for your advancement and promotion. His word says, 'Promotion and power come from nowhere on earth, but only from God. He promotes one and deposes another' (Psalm 75:6-7 TLB). Don't think you can do right in your own power. Sometimes the temptation to manipulate or lie to advance in some area is just too much to withstand. That's when you need to draw on God's strength. David said, 'The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid' (Psalm 27:1 NKJV)?

Pray: 'Father, please keep me from falling into temptation, and deliver me from the evil one. Help me to do what's right.'

A fascinating study was done on divergent thinking - which is thinking outside the box. The results? Ninety-eight per cent of children between three and five years old scored in the genius category for divergent thinking. Between eight and ten, that number dropped to 32 per cent. By the time they became teenagers, it dropped down to 10 per cent. And of those over twenty-five, only 2 per cent scored in the genius category for divergent thinking. That means the older you get, the greater your tendency will become to resist change.

Remember the Kodak company? In 1997, Kodak had about 160,000 employees.
And about 85% of the world's photography was done with Kodak cameras. With the rise of mobile cameras over the past few years, Kodak Camera Company is out of the market. Even Kodak went completely bankrupt and all his employees were fired.

At the same time many more famous companies had to stop themselves. Like

HMT (clock)
BAJAJ (स्कूटर)
DYANORA (TV)
MURPHY (RADIO)
NOKIA (Mobile)
RAJDOOT (Bike)
Ambassador (car)

None of the above companies had bad quality. Why are these companies out yet? Because they could not change themselves over time.

Standing in the present moment you probably don't think how much the world could change in the next 10 years! And today's 70%-90% jobs will be completely over in the next 10 years. We are slowly entering the era of "Fourth Industrial Revolution".

UBER is just a software name. No, they have no cars of their own. Yet today the world's largest taxi-fair company is UBER.

Airbnb is the largest hotel company in the world today. But funny thing is they don't own a single hotel in the world.

Similarly, examples of countless companies like Paytm, Ola Cab, Oyo rooms etc can be given.

There is no work for new lawyers in America today, because a legal software called IBM Watson can advocate much better than any new lawyer. Thus, almost 90% of Americans will not have any jobs in the next 10 years. The remaining 10% will be saved. These will be 10% experts.

The new doctor is also sitting down to work. Watson software can detect cancer and other diseases 4 times more accurately than humans. Computer intelligence will surpass human intelligence by 2030.

90% of today's cars will not be seen on the roads in the next 20 years. Leftover cars will either run by electricity or hybrid cars. The roads will slowly become empty. Gasoline consumption will decrease and oil producing Arab countries will slowly become bankrupt.

If you want a car you have to ask for a car from a software like Uber. And as soon as you ask for a car, a completely driverless car will come and park in front of your door. If you travel with several people in the same car, the rent of a car per person will be less than a bike.

Driving without driver will reduce the number of accidents by 99%. And this is why car insurance will stop and car insurance companies will be out.

Things like driving on earth will no longer survive. Traffic police and parking staff won't be required when 90% of vehicles disappear from the road.

Just think, there used to be STD booths in the streets even 10 years ago. All these STD booths were forced to close after the mobile revolution came in the country. Those who survived have become mobile recharge shops. Again online revolution in mobile recharge. People started recharging their mobile online sitting at home. Had to replace these recharge shops again. Now these are just mobile phones to buy and sell and repair shops. But this will also change very soon. Mobile phone sales are increasing directly from Amazon, Flipkart.

The definition of money is also changing. There used to be cash but in today's age it has become "plastic money". Credit card and debit card round was a few days ago. Now that too is changing and the era of mobile wallet is coming. Growing market of Paytm, one click of mobile money.
