I am fitter today than I was in my 20s.
This didn’t happen by chance but by intentional choices.

I have always desired to be fit.
Some of the most inspiring individuals to me have been athletes.

I always valued the ability displayed in all forms of sport. Watching people move with such mastery, strength, and precision has always excited me.

Even in my heavier years, I knew somewhere in the corner of my heart that I was going to try to be fit.
To be strong.
And to use my body like the gift it truly is.

For me, fitness has never been solely about aesthetics.
I deeply admire the tenancity, discipline and sheer power that many atlethes display with their craft.

I’m a firm believer in fitness as a transformative tool, and the transformation goes far beyond the physical.

So today, let me remind you
Take fitness seriously.
And that means nutrition and intentional movement.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help if you are struggling.
No one was born with this ability, we all had to learn. And the learning never stops.

What you mustn’t accept is a life without any form of intention toward becoming fit.
There are only a few things worth it in life to fight for, and believe me when I say fitness makes the cut.

There’s so much light at the end of the fitness tunnel.

To add some fiber to my eggs, I love adding fresh tomatoes, peppers, onions, and curry leaves.

This meal makes for a light dinner without any carbs to spike my blood sugar.

I highly recommend that women over 40 keep their dinners low in carbs as much as possible.

But if you must include carbs then make sure it’s complex carbs.

Simple swaps like this go a long way.

My workout routine includes a blend of cardio, strength training, and flexibility. I’ll admit flexibility is the area I need to show up more consistently in, but we keep moving forward!

Cardio keeps my heart strong and resilient. It’s not just about burning calories, it’s about endurance, stamina, and taking care of the engine that keeps everything running.

Strength training helps me build and preserve muscle, protect my bones, improve posture, and feel strong and capable.

Now flexibility… that’s where I’m still growing.
I don’t stretch as often as I’d like, but I’m working on it. Because flexibility enhances mobility, prevents injuries, and helps the body recover better. It’s just as important.

I believe every category of exercise has its place. I don’t trade one for another because they all serve a unique and powerful purpose.

Keep showing up. Keep mixing it up. Your body will thank you 💕

There’s an ongoing battle in my life—Puff-Puff vs. a healthy meal. And thankfully, the healthy option wins most times. 😅

I eat puff- puff but it’s in my “treat” category and not my “staple”. This seemingly minor food classification is probably why I still have a waitline.

Because let’s be honest—once you hit 40, your body starts sending you memos:
“Ma, we don’t bounce back like we used to.

Today I drove past the puff- puff stall by House on the Rock in lekki, and again I won the battle 🤣😭.
