As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

My attention has been drawn to a voice message of mine that was part of a discussion among friends in a WhatsApp group, which was subsequently copied by unknown members and shared on Facebook.

In actual fact, I did not mean to dismiss any individual or family, particularly an honorable family of Balogun Gambari of Ilorin that has contributed significantly to the growth, development, stability, and peace we enjoy today in the Emirate.

I apologize for any misconceptions, misinterpretations, and negative meaning of my views, especially my brother and friend Hon. Tunji Buhari and family. I assure you that I did not intend to attack or diminish any individual or family heritage. We all genuinely love His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin, and strive to protect the Shehu Alimi dynasty in various directions.

May Almighty Allah continue to bestow blessings upon His Royal Highness, Emir of Ilorin, and may Ilorin continue to progress from strength to strength.

The Emirate will forever stand strong, Insha Allah.

Your personal attacks notwithstanding, I will continue to make peace with you, Saliu Mustapha replies Oloriegbe

Kwara Central APC Senatorial Candidate Mallam Saliu Mustapha has said the results of the senatorial primaries reflected the wishes of party stakeholders and members in the district.

In a statement he personally signed and released to the media by his campaign organization, Mustapaha urged leaders of the party to temper their words and utterances in public places in order not to derail the modest gains already made by the party at the state and nationally.

“While I assert that the outcome of our primaries represents the democratic choice of the largest majority of party members who freely exercised their franchise, I appeal to leaders of our party to leave a legacy of being good sportsmen. We should also avoid comments that do not unite the party and its members, notwithstanding our personal feelings,” said Mustapha, who is also the Turaki of Ilorin.

“Again, the outcome of any democratic contest is not as important as how the contenders and leaders manage the outcome. This is especially true of shadow elections. On our part, we will continue to reach out and build consensus within the file and ranks of our party. Constant personal attacks on anyone, especially party leaders, does not serve any good purpose. As leaders, we are better defined by how we handle electoral setbacks and our choice of words during grief than how we revel in victory.

“While the party structure continues to unite everyone behind a common agenda to secure a landslide victory at all levels for our party, I appeal to all leaders to avoid comments that are not only untrue and unfair to delegates who made their choice but also hurt leaders whose silence and calm in the face of constant attacks is more about playing the bigger person and uniting the party than about being guilty of any accusations. At all times, real leaders must show restraint in their outbursts."

How Saliu Mustapha is Beating Bolaji Abdullahi in the Development of Kwara Sports.

A leader is unarguably defined as someone who bears an all round influence on his or her subjects.

Much to that, he takes every angle of their dwellings as his responsibility and is always ready to take glory of any positive development and negative.

Checking through the annals of Sports development in Kwara State, one will be disappointed not to get hold of any impact of Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi who was once a Minister of Youth and Sports.

As we speak, the current Minister of Youth and Sports in the country Sunday Dare, has been able to attract a youth and sports development centre to his hometown, organized different competitions from football, Table Tennis and Marathon with the view of giving back to the society and also empower the youth.

It's quite unfortunate that today, Mallam Abdullahi can't point to a single achievement to the development of the Ilorin Emirate in the angle of Sports development.

Why is it important to talk about this now? It has become necessary to elucidate the dossiers of the two major candidates vying to represent the good people of Kwara Central in the House of Senate in order to help the electorates make an informed decision when the election comes.

Against the run of Play, the disposition of Mallam Saliu Mustapha towards sports development recently has signalled a great future for the Emirate, which has over time been punching below her weights.

For the purpose of record, Saliu Mustapha lately single handedly threw the gate open for Kwarans to witness Kwara United's last league game in the 2021 /2022 NPFL season and also paid the bonuses of all the players which boosted their morale to get continental ticket.

This gesture has not only propelled the team in their bid to become a top team in the country but has also handed them their age long dream of playing Continental games which was last played 11 years ago.

Surprisingly, Mallam Mustapha was also personally on ground to watch and cheer Kwara United at the Kwara State Stadium Complex, while Bolaji Abdullahi has never in any ways supported the Harmony Boys.

It must be noted that Kwara United is a team that brings all Kwarans together and one of the State's assets they're always proud of.

The last time Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi watched Kwara United's match was in 2014 and his presence was not of any help considering how Kwara United were banished to Lokoja and eventually relegated to the lower division.

Ever since then, Bolaji Abdullahi has turned his back against developing or supporting anything Kwara Sports whether locally or nationally.

Grassroots football development

Recently, the Turaki of Ilorin was a guest at the final of the football tournament organized by the 2022 Durbar Committee in which the monetary support given to the organisers has emboldened them to further their cause in developing the Sport at the grassroots level.

Similarly, Mallam Mustapha was also at the final of the Wesley football competition where he donated money to the organisers and promised to continue to support them.

One can't also forget quickly how Mallam Mustapha bankrolled a soccer tournament as part of a long week activities for his official installation as the Turaki of Ilorin Emirate. The football competition is today a reference points as a platform where talented footballers were discovered all to the glory of Emirate.

To this end, the Turaki of Ilorin has given the electorates a clue of what abounds in his plans to turn things around not only in Sports but across all field of human endeavours in Kwara.

Kwara communities applaud Saliu Mustapha for reviving 2017 electrification project

Residents of Gambari, Akerebiata, Kulende and Sango communities have expressed gratitude to the All Progressives Congress candidate in the Kwara Central Senatorial race, Mallam Saliu Mustapha, over the rehabilitation of an electrification project abandoned in 2017.

It would be recalled that the communities had written to the APC chieftain early August, requesting his assistance on the abandoned project.

They also noted that they had not been able to benefit from the project due to the existence of some damaged accessories on the 11KV network.

It was stated that the rehabilitation would cost over four million Naira, following a market survey carried out by the communities.

However, Mustapha, upon receipt of the letter, footed the bill of the rehabilitation in full. Mustapha, while presenting the cheque to the representatives of the benefiting communities, said it would drastically improve the socio-economic well-being of the residents of the affected communities.

Represented by his aide, Tunji Buhari Sulyman, Mustapha also applauded the pioneer efffors of Engr. Kale Kawu on the project and promised to oversee it to completion for the benefit of all.

Reacting to Mustapha's speedy intervention , the Chairman and Secretary of the affected communities, Alhaji Ahmed Kaduna and Alhaji Adelodun Yusuf, conveyed their gratitude to Mustapha, describing him as one of a kind in the communities.

"What we intended before was to raise the funds house to house, communities by communities. But with the Turaki's wholesome interventions, all those plans have been suspended and work has began in earnest," the executives stated.

Also stating, Adelodun said upon completion, the substation will provide at least 17 hours of uninterrupted power supply. It is only God that can reward Mallam Mustapha for this gesture," the executives stated.
