The KWANKWASIYYA MOVEMENT will not fade away because Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has empowered many young university graduates by providing them with permanent and pensionable appointments across various ministries, departments and agencies. He has also sponsored thousands of students from Kano to study in universities overseas. Today, many of these beneficiaries are excelling in their respective fields, and their loyalty to him remains strong. In the near future, they will, in turn, support and uplift others. With this kind of impact, it is difficult to see how the Kwankwasiyya movement could die.Anyone who desires lasting relevance should focus on securing a positive future for our teeming youth, just as Yakubu Dogara has done. He has provided numerous young people with permanent and pensionable jobs in various ministries, departments, and agencies, and has also sponsored many to pursue education in tertiary institutions. In time, these young individuals will grow into leaders of this country and beyond. Therefore, the MOVEMENT associated with Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara should not be underestimated in the near future.

‎2027: Onyeama Declares for Presidency, Notifies Obasanjo, Jonathan
‎A political scientist, Francis Onyeama, has begun moves to contest Nigeria’s presidency in 2027.

‎His early steps include reaching out to former leaders and key national figures as he prepares for a formal declaration.

‎Onyeama, 38, from Delta State, has written to former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan.

‎In the letters, he informed them of his intention to run for office under the platform of the National Rescue Movement (NRM).

‎His consultations go beyond former presidents. He has also contacted respected traditional rulers and public voices across the country. Among them are the Oba of Benin, the Emir of Kano, and human rights lawyer Femi Falana.

‎The move is seen as part of a wider effort to build support ahead of his official entry into the race.

‎Sources close to his team said the consultations are only the beginning. They confirmed that Onyeama will formally declare his ambition on March 25, 2026, in Abuja. The event is expected to attract attention from political observers and stakeholders.

‎Onyeama is presenting himself as a candidate focused on ideas and policy. He has often spoken about the need to change how leaders emerge in Nigeria.

‎According to him, the country needs a system that rewards competence and clear thinking, not just money or political influence.

‎At the declaration, he is expected to present a detailed essay titled From the Political Class to the Reformist (Solution) Class. The document outlines his plans for governance and national development.

Maiduguri Bombings: Two states responsible for terrorism in Northeast Nigeria – CDS.

‎Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, has singled out people of Borno and Yobe States as major culprits for terrorism in the Northeast.
‎The CDS made the allegations Wednesday while speaking to journalists upon arrival in Borno State following multiple bombings in the state days earlier.

‎Responding to questions on why terrorism festers in the region, General Oluyede said the people of Borno and Yobe States must take ownership of the problem to end the menace.

‎According to him, the bulk of people perpetuating terrorism in the region are from Borno and Yobe States.

‎“There has been an upsurge in attacks in the Northeast within the last month. It is not something that is new because it comes most times with Ramadan. But we are here today to ensure that in the future this won’t repeat itself. I must say something that is very important: for us to end this act of terrorism, the people of Borno State and Yobe State must take ownership of this problem. Because the bulk of the people perpetrating these heinous acts are from these states, they are our brothers and sisters.”
‎For example, basically, two of the people who came to attack Kukuwa, the wounded ones, were inside the village; that means the people are complicit. Our people must resolve this; it must come to an end, and we must take ownership of this problem.”

‎Earlier, Vice President of Nigeria Kasim Shettima visited the victims of the Maiduguri bombings, which police said claimed 23 lives and injured over 100 people.

‎As a remedial measure, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu directed the service chiefs to move to Borno State.

A Bauchi-BASED political group, the Kaura Force Movement, has expressed solidarity with Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, who doubles as Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum, amid persistent rumours about his possible defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The group, led by the Commissioner for Natural Resources Development, Muhammad Maiwada Bello, launched the Kaura Force Movement on Monday, pledging to defend the interests of Mohammed ahead of the next year’s general elections.

At a press conference yesterday, Bello, acknowledged that discussions on the governor’s alleged defection were ongoing at a high level in Abuja, although he did not mention any individuals involved.

He said the group had seen the reports circulating on social media about the governor’s purported move adding that its members would continue to stand with him regardless of whatever political decision he eventually takes

He noted that discussions about the governor’s possible defection were still ongoing at higher political levels and that it was awaiting official feedback.

According to him, the group would align with the governor’s final position once it is formally communicated.

“We have seen on social media that the governor purported defection has been trending on social media, if you look at the statement we have issued at this press briefing. We are here to show our solidarity regardless of where his excellency is going.

We are going to work towards that direction. “ the Commissioner stated.

According to report by Nigerian Tribune on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, the Kano State Government has refuted claims that the 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, will preside over the upcoming Sallah Durbar, describing such reports as inaccurate and misleading.

In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, the government clarified that no official decision has been made regarding who will lead the traditional celebration.

He emphasized that the matter of leadership within the Kano Emirate remains unresolved and is currently before the court, urging the public to allow the legal process to run its course without interference.

The government reiterated its neutral stance in the ongoing dispute, distancing itself from all parties until a final judicial ruling is delivered. Residents were advised to remain peaceful and law-abiding, while also avoiding the spread of unverified information.

Media organisations and social media users were particularly cautioned to confirm the accuracy of reports before sharing them, especially as the Sallah festivities draw near.

Meanwhile, the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, has already taken steps toward hosting the 2026 Sallah Durbar. In a letter dated March 7, 2026, addressed to security authorities, the Kano Emirate Council under his leadership outlined plans for the event and requested adequate security arrangements.

The approved programme includes a series of traditional activities such as Hawan Sallah, Hawan Daushe, Hawan Nasarawa, and Hawan Panisau, alongside other cultural displays.

On Sallah Day, events will begin with a royal procession to the Eid prayer ground, followed by prayers and subsequent horse-riding parades across the city.

The Durbar, a major cultural attraction in northern Nigeria, is expected to draw large crowds and showcase rich traditions, colorful attire, and royal pageantry.

Sincere condolences to the Marti community. May the soul of the deceased rest in peace. RIP
