Report on Day 4 and 5 of Orogun Youth Empowerment Summit (O-YES '24)

The Orogun Youth Empowerment Summit (O-YES '24), held in collaboration with the Palace of Priests Assembly and presented by The Ejiro and Otive Igbuzor Foundation, successfully concluded its five-day event aimed at empowering the youth with essential digital skills, life skills, and financial literacy.

The summit took place from July 29th to August 2nd at the Niger Delta Resource Centre, Umuabi Street, Ugono Orogun

Day 4: Content Creation

The fourth day of the summit was dedicated to content creation, a crucial skill in the digital age. Participants were introduced to the fundamentals of content creation, including brainstorming ideas, creating engaging content, and leveraging different platforms to reach their target audience. They were trained on various aspects such as storytelling, video production, and graphic design. Expert trainers provided hands-on sessions, allowing attendees to practice and refine their skills in real-time. By the end of the day, participants had created their own pieces of content, receiving constructive feedback from trainers and peers.

Day 5: Digital Marketing

The final day of the summit focused on digital marketing, teaching participants how to effectively promote their content and businesses online. Sessions covered social media marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), email marketing, and data analytics. Practical exercises and case studies helped participants understand the real-world applications of digital marketing techniques.

Participant Engagement and Feedback

The summit witnessed enthusiastic participation from the youth, who were eager to learn and apply new skills. The attendees expressed their gratitude for the opportunity provided by The Ejiro and Otive Igbuzor Foundation, emphasizing how the summit had positively impacted their personal and professional lives. Many participants shared their experiences and the immediate application of their newfound knowledge in their respective fields.

Ongoing Mentorship
Although the summit officially ended on August 2nd, the learning and development continue. Attendees have been integrated into a mentorship program via a dedicated WhatsApp group. This platform facilitates ongoing support, where participants can ask questions, share their progress, and receive guidance from mentors and peers. The mentorship initiative ensures that the skills acquired during the summit are continuously nurtured and refined, promoting sustained personal and professional growth.

Conclusion
The Orogun Youth Empowerment Summit (O-YES '24) concluded on a high note, with participants equipped with invaluable skills in content creation and digital marketing. The summit’s success is reflected in the positive feedback and gratitude from the attendees, who have already begun utilizing their new skills. The continued mentorship program highlights the commitment of The Ejiro and Otive Igbuzor Foundation and the Palace of Priests Assembly to nurturing long-term empowerment and development among the youth, thus marking a significant milestone in the Foundation's ongoing efforts to uplift and equip the youth of Orogun with the tools necessary for success in the digital era.
