People think NELFUND is just about giving students money.

No! The impact is far bigger than that.

As NELFUND CEO, Mr Akintunde Sawyer, and Political Scientist, Obafemi George , rightly explained, when students have money, the entire economy around our campuses begins to move.

The food seller sells more. The landlord gets paid. The POS agent makes transactions. The printer gets customers. The transporter carries passengers.

One student gets support, and an entire chain of Nigerians benefits.

This is not just a student loan programme. This is money circulating from the classroom into the streets, markets and homes of ordinary Nigerians.

THAT is the grassroots economic impact many people are not paying attention to! 🇳🇬🔥

NELFUND is changing more lives than people realise. 👏🏾❤️

🎯✨ Betta Edu Commends Sen. Oluremi Tinubu Over National Community Food Bank, ICT Centre Launch in Calabar

The Director of Women Mobilisation, Presidential Campaign Council, Dr Betta Edu, has commended the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, for the successful launch of the National Community Food Bank for the South-South Region in Calabar, Cross River State.

Dr Edu described the initiative as one of the most impactful innovations of the Renewed Hope Administration, particularly for vulnerable Nigerians, including pregnant and lactating women, malnourished children and other persons in need of food support.

Speaking with journalists shortly after the launch in Calabar, Dr Edu said the Community Food Bank would not only provide immediate nutritional assistance to vulnerable families but also stimulate local production and strengthen the economy of Cross River State and the South-South region.

“I am so grateful to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his beautiful wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who came today to launch the National Community Food Bank. I think it is one of the biggest innovations that gets to those who need it the most in Nigeria.

“Lactating mothers, pregnant women, malnourished children and other vulnerable persons can walk into the facility and get food whenever they need it.

“Beyond providing fresh food, the initiative also patronises local producers, meaning that the economy of Cross River State and indeed the entire South-South region will receive a significant boost.”

Dr Edu also commended the Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Edet Otu, and his wife, Bishop Eyoanwan Bassey Otu, for the effective mobilisation and hospitality extended during the visit of the First Lady, as well as their efforts toward the development of the state.

She expressed optimism that the initiative would contribute to improving the wellbeing of vulnerable citizens while creating opportunities for local farmers and producers.

“I want to commend the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Otu, and his dear wife for the wonderful mobilisation today and for the great work they are doing in Cross River State.

“I believe that things will only get better for Nigeria and for Cross River State going forward,” she said.

Dr Edu, who also described herself as a woman in technology, commended the Federal Government, the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) and Senator Oluremi Tinubu for the commissioning of an ICT centre at the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS).

She said the facility would provide young Nigerians, especially women and youth, with the skills and exposure required to compete in an increasingly technology-driven global economy, particularly in the area of Artificial Intelligence.

According to her, the investment represents a strategic intervention in women and youth development and digital capacity building.

“I think that’s a wonderful job by TETFund and the Federal Government of Nigeria under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

"It is a wonderful ICT centre for young people, especially women, to encourage them and bring them up to speed with what the world is dealing with right now, which is Artificial Intelligence.

“I am sure that these young people will receive 360-degree digital training that can open doors for them both nationally and internationally.

“I am grateful to the wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for coming in to commission the facility. I believe that the University of Cross River State, women and other students will be better for it.”

Dr Edu said the combination of social interventions such as the National Community Food Bank and investments in technology and human capital demonstrated the administration’s commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians and preparing young people for the future.

🎯✨ THE MEETINGS Before the coup. Before the war. Before anyone said the word "Biafra" there were meetings. Rooms in Ibadan, rooms in London, men arguing over percentages, borders, and a clause that never made it into law.

This episode goes back to where Nigeria was actually built not 1960, but the years before it and names exactly who fought for what: the ratio fight that produced Nigeria's first secession threat in 1950, the motion that split the North from the South in 1953, the city taken from a region that built it, and the constitutional clause one man blocked and another man needed.

Every name in this episode is documented. Every threat, every vote, every outcome sourced. If you've ever been told Nigeria's problems started with a coup or a war, this is where you find out they started at a table, years earlier and the people who sat at it knew exactly what they were doing.

🎯✨ 40 million Nigerian women will support President Tinubu at the polls 2027; RHA holds another strategic meeting!

Dr Betta Edu Director for Health Renewed Hope Ambassador and Director for Women Mobilisation PCC Joins Renewed Hope Ambassadors’ Strategic Meeting as Governor Uzodimma Assures RHA: “Nothing Has Changed”

Dr. Betta Edu, has joined senior political stakeholders and leaders of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors at a strategic meeting in Abuja, where Imo State Governor and Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors Senator Hope Uzodimma, reaffirmed the group’s continued relevance ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The emergency meeting, held at the Presidential Campaign Office, was convened amid concerns among directors, zonal coordinators and state coordinators that the recent constitution of the APC Presidential Campaign Council could lead to the dissolution or displacement of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors.

Uzodimma, who also serves as Secretary of the Presidential Campaign Council, assured participants that the organisation remained intact and would continue to operate alongside the newly constituted campaign council. He said RHA is the grassroots structure of President Bola Tinubu to highlight the achievements of this administration at the grassroots all over Nigeria

According to reports of the meeting, Uzodimma said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had specifically asked him to reassure members that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors had neither been dissolved nor rendered redundant.

“Mr. President has told me to tell you that nothing has changed, and Renewed Hope Ambassadors should even double their efforts at grassroots,” Uzodimma said.

The governor explained that the Presidential Campaign Council was primarily an electoral structure, while the Renewed Hope Ambassadors had a broader mandate extending beyond the 2027 election cycle.

He described the two structures as complementary rather than competing entities, using a military analogy to underscore the distinction between a temporary campaign structure and the enduring organisation.

“The Presidential Campaign Council… will come and be used for election purposes. After that, we will continue. We are not going anywhere. You are like the barracks. Soldiers will come, soldiers will go, and the barracks will remain.”
Uzodimma further stated that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors was established by President Tinubu to communicate the administration’s policies, programmes, and achievements to Nigerians, particularly at the grassroots. He said the organisation had developed structures across the 36 states, the Federal Capital Territory, and the six geopolitical zones.

The meeting brought together senior party figures, directors, zonal coordinators, and state coordinators from across the country. Among those reported to have attended were former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, former Governor Isa Yuguda, Senator Dayo Adeyeye, Dr. Betta Edu, Hon Sunday Dare, Hon Abike Dabire, Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, Chief Olisa Metuh, and Prince Ade Omole, alongside other political stakeholders.

Uzodimma also announced plans for a major political summit in the fourth week of September to be organised in partnership with the Progressive Governors’ Forum and local government chairmen. The gathering is expected to bring together elected and appointed political officeholders from across Nigeria, with President Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima expected to address participants.

The governor urged members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to remain united and focused on their mandate, stressing that the organisation would work in synergy with the Presidential Campaign Council to mobilise support for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 election.

He also disclosed that a media tour covering the six geopolitical zones was underway to highlight the administration’s programmes and reforms.

The Abuja meeting, therefore, ended with renewed assurances that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors would remain an active component of the broader political mobilisation architecture supporting the Tinubu administration and its 2027 re-election campaign.

The development underscores efforts by the ruling APC-aligned mobilisation structures to maintain cohesion and coordinate their activities as preparations for the 2027 presidential election gather momentum.
