IN 2025, LEARN THE DIGITAL SKILLS THAT YOUR SMALL BUSINESS NEEDS.

Don't hire an expert when you know that you don't have the budget to pay for it.

One beautiful thing about building a company WITHOUT CAPITAL is that you will be forced to START SMALL.

Another beautiful thing is that you will be forced to LEARN everything about the thing you are building because you will be the one doing almost everything yourself because you don't have money to hire experts.

And because you started small your risks are small and your guaranteed failures are manageable.

This is how I became very good in several digital skills.

I do all our company designs, I run the ads for our company, I write all the ad copies that generates all the sales in the company.

Even the grinding mill, I had to learn to operate the engine in less than 30 days.

And almost what I can do my wife can do also.

These are things I need money to do, but since I don't have the money to hire experts I have no other option than to become the expert myself.

In the NEXT PHASE of our company growth I will be hiring and outsourcing these tasks because we can now pay for them, and because I need to buy time to focus more on decision making and other tasks that cannot be hired out nor delegated.

⚠️📢If you are a Small Business Owner like me, read this post to the very end.

My two years business experience as a business owner and the lessons Small Business Owners can learn.

In January 24th 2021, My wife Nneka John Dibor Opened her Baby Food Production Company NEKY Special Foods and immediately Launched her signature product Lead Tombrown baby food for 6 months plus babies.

And we have ran the company for over 2 years.
It was a two Buharic years of practical experience running a production company in Nigeria.

Within these 2 years we have bought a paint of yellow corn 🌽 ₦350 and we have equally bought it ₦2,500 which is the current price as at August 2023

it is an interesting experience as we had to try something we have not done before.

"Your business growth is usually directly proportional to your personal growth"

We have experienced growth based on our growth metrics 💹

Our current growth metrics includes,

1.💹Reach
2.💹 Number of Distributors
3. 💹Number of users
4. 💹Number of Interested Distributors
5.💹 Brand Awareness.
6. 💹Brand Partners and more..

The most important aspect of the above growth metrics is REACH

REACH refers to the total number of unique individuals who have seen your content or posts on social media.

It represents the size of your potential audience and indicates how many people your content has reached.

It is an important metric as it shows the extent of your company's VISIBILITY and how well your message is spreading among social media users.

Reach as a business owner is quite different from reach as a content creator.

Reach for a business owner is NOT just about number of people that you are able to reach with your message and your product but more of the number of people that are INTERESTED in what you are offering.

The best and the fastest way to achieve this is by running Facebook targeted ads.

It was one of those new things we had to try and experience too.

We were able to reach over 1 million nursing mothers from several states in Nigeria within 2 years with our different Facebook Ads Posts.

"The best thing that can happen to your business is running paid advertising that targets the people that are actually looking for your product"

When we started running ads, we saw the difference.

The worst that can happen to your business is posting your offer to your family and friends on your Facebook friends list.

You need family and friends that will be commenting on your birthday and Sunday posts but your business needs customers that buys from you.

And the only way to attract your customers is by talking to them and using Facebook targeted ads to ensure that they see your message on their phones whenever they log into their Facebook, just like I am talking to you and you are reading my post because you are currently on Facebook.

This is exactly what we did and the difference was very clear.

We currently have over 20 Distributors in several cities and states in Nigeria, covering the North, East, West and South amidst all our challenges and limitations.

My advice for small business owners is this,

"If it is applicable to you and you have what it takes, create an irresistible offer out of your product and advertise it outside your immediate location targeting the exact people that actually needs what you are offering"

With this same advice I gave you, we were able to have 5 distributors in Abuja, 5 in Lagos, 4 in PH, 2 in Aba, 2 in Awka, 1 in Onitsha, Oba, Nnewi, Asaba, Enugu, Benin, Kwara, and Umuahia.

And we have had over 50 Distributors in 2 years of operation which can NEVER be possible without Facebook targeted ads.

Surprisingly, We ONLY have 1 Distributor in Umuahia where we are based, in comparison to Abuja, Lagos and Porthacourt where we have 5 Distributors in each State.

Your Facebook account could be restricted from advertising for several reasons, such as:

1 .You broke some of the rules that Facebook has for ads, like showing harmful or misleading content.

2 .You did not confirm your identity or verify your account details with Facebook.

3 You did not turn on two-factor authentication, which is a security feature that protects your account.

4 . Someone else hacked your account and used it to run bad ads.

5. You are new to advertising on Facebook and have not proven that you are a good advertiser.

If your account is restricted, you will get a message from Facebook telling you why and what to do next.

You can also check your account status and fix any problems. You may be able to ask Facebook to review your account and change their decision.

One of our Lead Tombrown brand business partners brought a complaint that she cannot fund her Facebook ad account with naira because "Naira Payment with MasterCard/VISA] is not available.

❌Please avoid linking your bank debit card to Facebook because anyone that has done that has a painful story of over debiting to tell.❌

She added that she has lost a lot of money 💰 linking a dollar card because Facebook will not only finish up all the money on her card but she will end up owing Facebook in a way that any money that entered that account will be cleared off.

When I checked I observed in line with my suspicion that she is using a default ad account and hers does not have the Naira Payment Option, just like yours and many others.

So I helped her to create a new Ad account and the naira payment option appeared and she was able to fund her ad account in naira Successfully and she was very excited and was ready to run her ad😀

But she called me again and sent me a screenshot that her account is "restricted" from running ads.

When I checked I discovered that she needed to verify her personal identity using either her driving licence, International passport or National ID,

I helped her to fix it using her passport and the restriction was removed almost immediately.

She was happy again and very grateful🤩.

She hastily rushed to boost her business post following my YouTube video on how to run ads on your existing business post the right way.

This time around she saw an ⚠️error message immediately she touched "boost" saying.

"⚠️Verify your Business Email:You can't use this feature in business manager until you verify the business email you entered when creating this business account"

At this point she was so devastated and frustrated adding to the fact that she wasn't paying for the services being that she is a business partner at my wife's company, and we promised partnership support to anything standing on their way to marketing and sales.

When I visited her business account settings I discovered that she created the ad account inside a business account whose email address is not verified and she can't verify it because someone else helped her to create that unverified business account using a business email she doesn't have access to.

Her ad account which she has verified her identity on is her own but the business account where she created that ad account in is not hers.

Meaning that she has to do away with that business account and create a new one that she will have control over and import her ad accounts, her pages, Instagram and WhatsApp business account into it in order to manage it all in one place to enjoy the Easy workflow.

Using Facebook Business Manager can help you avoid restrictions and get better results for your ad campaigns. It’s also a great way to streamline your workflow and responsibilities, saving you time and effort.
