It Works For Me.
------------------
I may not go deep into explaining the science behind it, but I have been using it over the last decade, and it works for me. At 54, my eyes are in their late 30s.
My parents both started wearing glasses in their early 40s.
Hopefully, I won’t need glasses in this life, even at 80. I call it Moses’ heritage.
But I do get that feeling of tired eyes from time to time, especially for eyes that stay glued to different screens for about 15 hours daily, oftentimes my vision gets blurry requiring squeezing some tears to make it misty, or cupping it for few minutes. However, no other remedy has worked for me as effective as tea bags, especially Green Teas.
The relief and the freshness it brings to my sight is magical.
Personal experience taught me that green tea pads are the best home remedy for dark circles and under-eye bags treatment and they work their magic on swollen eyes with their anti-inflammatory properties and ability to reduce pain.
It works well either warm or cold press. Just leave them on your eyes for about 20 minutes. You will feel great.
Research suggests that certain ingredients in the tea can benefit the skin under the eyes. Since green teas contain caffeine, it's worth noting these effects could be ascribed to the herb as well. Some people swear that it works on under eyes wrinkles too.
It can be used as a cold press, or a warm press. Using teabags from black or green tea brings plenty of benefits when it's cold. They can help shrink your eye bags and make you look more refreshed and alert but they won't work on hereditary eye bags.
The same goes for dark circles. Green tea (or black tea) is capable of shrinking dilated blood vessels below your eyes responsible for those infraorbital dark circles. As the blood flow is constricted, the appearance of dark circles will diminish, giving you a much better look.
If you have sore or red eyes, you should try and banish the condition with green tea compresses. Research findings show that a cold tea bag could relieve eye infections and conjunctivitis, or pink eye.
As I mentioned earlier, both cold press and warm press works wonders.
A warm compress helps heal certain eye related health conditions. For many of work that suffer from occasional dry eyes due to overexposure to the computer screen, green tea bags or black tea bags should be the answer.
If you want a warm press, it is important to ensure that the tea bags are warm, not hot. But if you prefer a cold press, then leaving the used tea bags in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes does lots of good.
Should you be faced with dark eye circles and puffiness, avoid applying warm pads to your under-eye area. It's cold that makes your blood vessels shrink, so keep that in mind.
Maybe this is one of the reasons I don't have eyebags, no tired eyes, and my sclera is as white as that of the teenager, even though I am 54.
This is not a doctor’s advice, thus if you have serious eye health issues see your Optometrist. But it has been working for me for over a decade, it may work for you.
