Yesterday was a solemn and deeply emotional day for me.

We laid to rest a man I was proud to call a friend, a brother, and a patriot… His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.

Mai Gaskiya was not just a former president. He was a man of rare discipline and quiet strength, whose love for Nigeria shaped every decision he made, even in the face of criticism.

I mourn him deeply, not just as my predecessor, but as a comrade in the long and often lonely journey of nation-building.

To his beloved wife, Hajiya Aisha Buhari, and the entire family, I offer my heartfelt condolences. May you find comfort in the honour and legacy he leaves behind.

Nigeria has lost a true son. I have lost a friend in former President Buhari.

May Almighty Allah grant him Aljannah Firdaus.

Abia Deputy Whip Rejoices With Hon. Darlington Nwokocha On His Birthday

The Deputy Whip of Abia State House of Assembly and Member Representing Osisioma Ngwa North State Constituency Hon Iheanacho Nwogu has described Sen Darlington Nwokocha, as a consummate lawmaker, Leader and a long standing Senior friend whose record in the Society peaks for itself.

Hon Chocho stated this today while extolling Sen. Nwokocha on the occasion of his birthday. He further praised Nwokocha’s passion for leadership and his significant contributions to Abia State. He acknowledged Nwokocha’s dedication and the remarkable impact he has made in Abia State and beyond.

“Senator Nwokocha’s commitment to our state and his leadership are truly admirable,” The Deputy Whip said. “His efforts have inspired many, and I am honored to celebrate him today, very honoured.

Despite the challenges and setbacks at the appeal courts, Sen. Darlington Nwokocha remained grateful to God, praising Him at every opportunity, to the admiration of all. This show of immense trust in God in the face of adversity is rare.

“Today, I join countless others in celebrating your life and wishing you all the best in your future endeavors,” Chocho added.

“You are a great leader, and your contributions will always be remembered. We all in Abia Central and Abia as a whole celebrate you. ”

The Deputy Whip’s message reflects the deep respect and admiration he holds for Senator Darlington Nwokocha, emphasizing their shared commitment to the progress of Abia State.

He wished him a happy birthday and prayed God to bless him with long life and good health.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, on Saturday attended the burial of his uncle in Rumuepirikom, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Wike was joined at the ceremony by the suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, and the suspended Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martins Amaewhule, among other dignitaries.

Their appearance comes days after efforts to resolve the lingering political crisis in the state.
