99% of Nigerian products can now enter the UK market duty-free under the UK’s Developing Countries Trading Scheme (DCTS)? This includes top products like cocoa, cashew, sesame, palm oil, yams, tomatoes, prawns, cotton, and even processed foods.

That’s right. If you're a small business owner, farmer, or food processor, you can now export directly to the UK and earn in foreign currency (₤ / $) with zero import tariffs. As of June 2025, this opportunity is active and supported by both UK and Nigerian trade agencies.

It’s not about having millions. Just the right product and the right process.

Here’s How to Start:

1. Pick your product – Think sesame, ginger, dried fish, cocoa, etc.

2. Ensure good packaging and quality – The UK market has strict hygiene and labeling rules.

3. Register with official export bodies – Like NEPC, NAQS, NAFDAC, SON.

4. Start small – Even 1 container or 5kg sample counts. Ship through verified logistics.

It's a NEW WEEK and here's something for you to start your week !!!

The mind is your first farm. Before you grow crops, livestock, or products, you must grow the mindset to build, scale, and stay committed.

Agriculture is no longer about just planting, it’s about planning, processing, and profiting. What separates those making billions from those watching is not land, but vision. When your thinking expands, your hustle follows.

Ex*****on is not about how big you start, but how intentionally you act.

Nigeria has over 220 million people, and we still import food. That’s more than the entire population of Germany, the UK, and South Africa combined and yet we depend on outside countries to feed us. Meanwhile, countries with half our land and fewer mouths to feed are exporting tomatoes, catfish, maize, and even garri to the world. If you think the market is saturated, think again. Our local demand is rising daily and that means opportunity.

What you need is the discipline to learn and think about scalability. From one crate of eggs to 5,000 birds. From 10 packs of dried catfish to an export container. From grinding pepper in your kitchen to processing and packaging for supermarkets. These things don’t happen by luck, they happen by learning, planning, and putting systems in place that grow over time. Your small beginning is not your final level.

You have to see the possibility. Not just the work or the fear. Agriculture is creating young and old billionaires across Africa and many started with nothing but a decision. A small plot, a fish pond, a backyard idea, a strong mind, and consistent ex*****on.

Give it time. Give it your best. The roots may grow in silence, but the harvest always shows up.

It's July, and the rains are in full swing. While this is a vital season for farming, it also comes with serious challenges that every smart farmer should prepare for.

Here are key things to watch out for during this peak rainy season:

Waterlogging and poor drainage
This can suffocate roots and reduce crop yield. Ensure proper drainage and consider raised beds or ridges for crops like maize, cassava, and vegetables.

Fungal and bacterial diseases
High humidity encourages diseases like blight, rust, and leaf spot. Avoid overcrowding crops, rotate crops, and apply appropriate fungicides.

Pest attacks
Wet conditions attract pests such as armyworms, aphids, and stem borers. Regular field checks and early control measures are necessary.

Nutrient leaching
Heavy rain can wash away essential nutrients from the soil. Apply fertilizers in split doses and improve soil with compost or organic matter.

Livestock health issues
Animals are prone to foot rot, coccidiosis, and other infections during the rains. Keep pens dry and clean, and maintain proper vaccination schedules.

Infrastructure damage
