"They Said I Should Grow Up..." 😏
Someone told me to grow up.
Can you imagine?
He said:
"Aunty Faith, haba, you don pass this thing na."
I looked him straight in the eye and said,
“Which aspect exactly do you want me to grow up?” 🤨
He said,
“Why will you remove your shoe in church and dance like a mad woman?”
I laughed. Not small laugh o—Holy Ghost laugh! 😂
Let me clear the air:
I may be grown in age,
but I will NEVER outgrow the presence of God.
NEVER!
When it's time for praise, I’m not looking for camera angles or approval ratings.
I dance like David danced – with no shame and no apology.
Yes, I remove shoe!
Yes, I scatter dance floor for Jesus!
Because I know what He delivered me from.
When it’s time for worship, I break.
I melt.
I lift my voice like it’s the only thing I have left.
Because I know who I’m worshipping.
I was made for this.
And when it comes to prayer—
E no dey classy o!
I pray like a newborn crying for breast milk.
Like a wounded lion searching for healing.
I pray with fire, with tears, with warfare!
No steeze.
No form.
No trying to impress.
Because I didn’t come to church to perform, I came to encounter God!
Let me teach you something 👇🏽
We are in a generation that knows how to pose,
but not how to pour.
We dress for church, but we don’t press into His presence.
We snap worship moments, but we don’t live in worship.
Listen—
The presence of God is not a place to package, it’s a place to pour!
So if my worship offends your “maturity,”
Brother, keep your compliment.
Because I’m already growing—
Growing deeper, not just older.
Growing bolder, not colder.
Growing louder in praise, not quieter for fear of opinion.
So next time you see me barefoot, sweating, shouting, or rolling on the altar,
Just know—this is what freedom looks like.
This is what being chosen looks like.
This is what a real believer does.
I’ll say it loud and clear:
I will never be too grown to worship my God. 🙌🏽🔥
