The Director-General of World Trade Organisation, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, says President Bola Tinubu is committed to improving the lives of Nigerians.
She also said as the person at the helm of the World Trade Organisation, she would, alongside her team, do her best to support Nigeria at this difficult time.
Doctor Okonjo-Iweala stated this while speaking with State House correspondents after meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The WTO DG, flanked by the former Minister of State for Health during the Goodluck Jonathan, Mohammed Ali Pate, said they saw the President and that the focus of their discussion was on what they would do to support Nigeria.
She said they were contemplating a grassroot programme they could put in place to help young people as well as women, saying that the WTO would look at the kind of assistance it could give to the people on agriculture, textile and even in establishing pharmaceutical industry.

The Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Matthew Hassan Kukah says sectionalism, fanaticism, injustice and religious intolerance were responsible for insecurity in the country.
Kukah said this at a town hall meeting to promote peace and security in North West of Nigeria organised by Kukah Centre in collaboration with a non-governmental organization, Global Right which was prompted by the heightened insecurity in the region.
He urged stakeholders at the meeting to form a common front in curbing the menace, saying insecurity knows no religion.
Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, represented by the Sa’in of Kilgore, Muhammad Jabbi Kilgore, said bad governance, injustice and inequality were among factors fueling insecurity in the region and Nigeria.
Sultan charged those in authorities to be fair in dealing with their subjects, saying they would give account of their stewardship after leaving this world.
Sokoto State commissioner of police, Ali Hayattu Kaigama, said the police through community policing will continue to engage stakeholders in its peace-building efforts.
