FATHERS’ DAY: FATHERS ARE PILLARS OF THE FAMILY AND SOCIETY WHO EXEMPLIFY LOVE, STRENGTH AND SACRIFICE

Fathers’ Day is celebrated worldwide to recognize the uniqueness of paternal bonds and the influence of fathers in every society. It is an opportunity for people of goodwill to appreciate and celebrate the father figures in their lives and the contribution they make in the family and society for the greater good of all.

Undoubtedly, fathers have played a leading role in many important aspects of world history including historical, cultural, scientific, physical etc. Without their intervention, our world would not have become what it is now. Father’s Day complements Mother’s Day, which signifies the fact that parental role is highly revered and appreciated globally.

Essentially, fatherhood is a great privilege and responsibility that requires more than just being the biological factor, and today is a day that we remind ourselves of the fact that of all the rocks upon which we build our lives, family is the most important. Therefore, we must recognize and honor how critical every father is to that foundation.

Conclusively, the role of the father is supposed to be that of building nations and building generations. I earnestly appeal to all fathers to continue to live up to their parental and societal responsibilities as raising responsible children and viable leaders of our country's tomorrow is a great duty we must not fail to accomplish.
