Another setback for the PDP as Hon. Jaigbade exits over lack of discipline, factionalism, disunity, and unclear direction

A former aspirant for the Kwara State House of Assembly Hon Abdulwaheed Saheed Jaigbade has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party, citing lack of discipline, factionalism, disunity, and unclear direction as the justification for his departure.

As stated in a press statement released to TROVE Online Media early this morning, Hon. Jaigbade observed that the party's prolonged unseriousness, as demonstrated by the party leadership, has raised concerns about the PDP's commitment to providing visionary leadership and effective governance.

As a proponent of integrity, accountability, and service to the people, Hon Jaigbade noted that he can no longer continue in a platform that fails to embody these principles.

He remarked that the party's present condition is characterized by internal conflict, disciplinary failures, and eroding public trust.

Crisis Rocks Kwara APC Adewole Ward — Governor Abdulrazaq’s Political Base in Turmoil

Tension flared at a recent APC ward meeting in Adewole — the political home base of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq — as a fierce altercation broke out between party loyalists, Wasiu Tejidini and Majidi “Aburo Gomina.”

The violent clash left several people, including elderly women, badly beaten and hospitalized — painting a grim picture of the deepening cracks within the Governor’s own backyard.

As the popular saying goes, “Charity begins at home.” Unfortunately, the crisis igniting in the APC today stems from the Governor’s own ward, exposing his failure to manage even his immediate political environment.

One cannot give what they do not have. Governor Abdulrazaq, widely criticized for absentee leadership and poor governance, continues to fall short on all fronts. If a leader cannot keep peace in his own home, how can he be trusted with the affairs of an entire state?

He has earned the nickname “absentee governor” — more known for inflating contract sums, erecting flagpoles, and commissioning cosmetic, white elephant projects that lack real economic value.

Now, the very man accused of killing businesses and displacing citizens is watching his own base erupt in chaos — in his absence.

We can only hope that the APC’s internal squabbles do not spill over and disturb the peace of Ilorin. May Ilorin remain safe from their “potopoto” politics.
