SEASONโ€™S GREETINGS & CHRISTMAS MESSAGE

Christmas is more than a celebration, it is a timeless reminder of hope renewed, love shared, and unity strengthened even in the face of challenges. It calls us to look beyond our differences and embrace our shared humanity with compassion and understanding.

As the Holy Bible teaches:

โ€œGlory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men.โ€ โ€”Luke 2:14

โ€œBlessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.โ€ โ€”Matthew 5:9

These words reflect the noble teachings of Isa (Jesus), the son of Mary (peace be upon him) a message of peace, tolerance, humility, and love for one another.

In this sacred season, may we renew our collective commitment to peace, unity, and sustainable progress. Let us work hand in hand to uphold human dignity, strengthen our communities, and advance the Global Goals for a more just and sustainable world.

May the joy of Christmas bring comfort to every home, peace to every heart, and hope for a brighter tomorrow.

Merry Christmas and Seasonโ€™s Greetings.
May your days be filled with warmth, togetherness, and abundant blessings.

Yes deeply personal.

Real growth begins with the mind. As the late Chinua Achebe wisely said, โ€œA man who does not know where the rain began to beat him cannot know where he dried his body.โ€
Self-awareness is the first spark of transformation.

๐™„๐™จ ๐™ž๐™ฉ ๐™ฅ๐™ง๐™ค๐™›๐™š๐™จ๐™จ๐™ž๐™ค๐™ฃ๐™–๐™ก?
Absolutely.

This generation must pursue competence, not just confidence. As Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala often says, excellence is a global currency.
Today, skills are the new oil, the foundation of global relevance and national renewal.

๐™„๐™จ ๐™ž๐™ฉ ๐™˜๐™ค๐™ก๐™ก๐™š๐™˜๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™ซ๐™š?
Without a doubt.

Nations rise when individual growth connects with collective purpose. This is what Tony Elumelu demonstrates through entrepreneurship and what Amina Mohammed champions on the global stage through sustainability and development leadership.

It must be.

True development is not an overnight miracle; it is intentional, inclusive, and long-term. Our youth deserve systems that empower rather than restrict platforms that create real opportunities, not noise.

It is simple, yet powerful:

โ€ขWhen a young person grows, a community becomes stronger.
โ€ขWhen a community evolves, the nation begins to shift.
โ€ขAnd when Nigeria shifts, Africa inevitably rises.

Nelson Mandela reminded us, โ€œIt always seems impossible until itโ€™s done.โ€
And time and again, Nigerian trailblazers have shown that we rise by lifting others.

PERSONAL NARRATIVE:
What Leadership Means to Me!

Leadership, to me, transcends titles, positions, and public recognition. It is the quiet courage to step forward when action is required, and the humility to step aside when another personโ€™s strengths can better serve the moment. Leadership is an intentional commitment to service, a daily decision to guide with empathy, act with integrity, and create an environment where others are empowered to grow.

I have come to understand that true leadership is not always loud or dramatic. It often reveals itself in the small, consistent choices: the discipline to do what is right even when unobserved, the patience to listen deeply, and the willingness to understand before being understood. It is maintaining clarity of vision, especially on difficult days, and reminding people of the value of their contributions.

Leadership also means carrying responsibility without allowing ego to take root. It is recognizing that sustainable progress is never the achievement of one individual, but the collective effort, unity, and resilience of a dedicated team or community. A true leader does not seek to be the strongest voice in the room they work to amplify the strengths and voices of others.

Above all, leadership is about impact. It is about touching lives for the better, creating opportunities where none previously existed, and choosing compassion over convenience. It is about showing up consistently for your team, your community, and the purpose you represent. Impactful leadership inspires change not through force, but through integrity, authenticity, and purposeful action.

For me, leadership is a journey, a continuous process of becoming more self-aware, more intentional, and more deeply committed to service.

Each day reinforces my belief that the most effective leaders are those who lead with conviction, lift others up, and remain steadfast in their values.

The journey continues, still alive, still hopeful and guided by the purpose to serve with clarity, courage, and commitment.

@65

Happy Independence Day, Nigeria ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฌโค๏ธ

Today we celebrate not just the birth of our great nation, but also the resilience, diversity, and potential of over 200 million Nigerians.

Nigeria is one of the most diverse nations in the world, the most populated in Africa, and the 6th most populated globally. We also have one of the youngest populations on earth, our strength lies in our youth.

Our land is richly blessed: the largest oil producer in Africa, abundant natural resources, and a booming creative economy. Nigeria is also Africaโ€™s tech powerhouse, with Lagos positioning itself to rival Silicon Valley in the near future. Entertainment, fashion, food, hospitality, our global influence is undeniable.

But beyond these achievements lies the true spirit of Nigeria and its people. The future belongs to us, especially the youths. We must remember that those who gained independence for Nigeria in 1960 were young people who refused to be silent:

โ€ขNnamdi Azikiwe (56 years) โ€“ The voice of nationalism and Nigeriaโ€™s first President.

โ€ขSir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa (48 years) โ€“ Nigeriaโ€™s first Prime Minister.

โ€ขChief Obafemi Awolowo (51 years) โ€“ Visionary leader and Premier of Western Region.

โ€ขSir Ahmadu Bello (50 years) โ€“ Premier of Northern Region and great reformer.

โ€ขChief Anthony Enahoro (30 years) โ€“ The man who moved the first motion for Nigeriaโ€™s independence in 1953.

These men especially Anthony Enahoro were not afraid to rise as youths and take responsibility for the destiny of their country.

๐Ÿ“ŠYOUTHS POWER TODAY

โ€ขNigeriaโ€™s median age is just 18 yearsโ€”one of the youngest in the world.

โ€ขOver 70% of Nigeriaโ€™s population is below 30 years old.

โ€ขIn every election, youths make up more than half of registered voters.

This is not just a statistic, it is power. The numbers show clearly that the future of Nigeria is in the hands of its youth.

Today, the call is clear: Nigerian youths must embrace politics, leadership, and nation-building.

We cannot remain spectators while others decide our future. The time has come for us to organize, participate, and lead.

Our forefathers fought for independence with courage; it is now our duty to fight for progress, unity, and justice.

May Nigeria succeed.
May Nigerians prosper.
And may the youths of this nation rise and take their rightful place in history.

Happy Independence Day, Nigeria!๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฌโœจ

DECLARATION OF POLLING UNIT TRANSFER!

In line with the provisions of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Electoral Act, which grants every voter the right to transfer their polling unit upon relocation, I, Amb. Adamu Ibrahim Aliyu (AIA), hereby formally and officially declare the transfer of my polling unit from Makama โ€œBโ€ Ward to Toungo Ward, Yola South Local Government Area.

This decision is guided by the fact that my residential address, documents, and indigene status are all duly rooted in Toungo. As such, it is both natural and necessary that my voting strength and political participation be situated directly within my community.

As a grassroots politician, community mobilizer, and advocate of purposeful leadership, this transition represents more than just a procedural step, it is a reaffirmation of my commitment to stay closer to my people, to connect with them directly, and to continue championing their welfare, empowerment, and development.

I look forward to deepening my bond with the people of Toungo Ward as we collectively build a future defined by service, progress, and inclusive leadership.

Thank you for understanding.

LETTER OF RESIGNATION!

Mon, 22nd September 2025

I, Amb. Adamu Ibrahim Aliyu (AIA), a young grassroots politician and community mobilizer, hereby formally announce my resignation from the Peopleโ€™s Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect.

This decision comes after deep reflection on my political journey and the realities within the party. Over time, the PDP has failed to recognize the sacrifices and contributions of committed members who worked tirelessly for its success during elections. My decision to step aside was not taken lightly but has become necessary in order to remain true to my principles and vision for purposeful leadership and grassroots development.

I sincerely appreciate the leaders, colleagues, and supporters who stood by me throughout my years in the PDP. However, the current structure and direction of the party no longer reflect my values or the aspirations I hold for my people.

For now, I remain without affiliation to any political party. My commitment is first and foremost to my community and to the collective welfare, empowerment, and progress of our people. To my teeming supporters, I assure you that the journey ahead will be one of renewed dedication, service, and hope.

Theme: Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond
Quote: โ€œArise! Awake! and stop not until the goal is reached.โ€

By Adamu Ibrahim Aliyu (AIA)
A visionary youth with good political ambition, representing the new face of Yola South come 2027.

Today, we celebrate International Youth Day 2025, a day not just to recognize the power of young people, but to challenge ourselves to rise higher, dream bigger, and act bolder. This yearโ€™s theme, โ€œLocal Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyondโ€, is a powerful reminder that the world doesnโ€™t change only in big conference halls or distant capitals, it changes right here, in our streets, schools, farms, tech hubs, communities, and homes.

When we speak about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we are talking about a global blueprint for dignity, equality, peace, and prosperity for all. But these goals will remain on paper unless we โ€œthe youthsโ€ turn them into daily actions. From fighting climate change by promoting greener practices, to championing gender equality, creating innovative jobs, and driving community peacebuilding our local efforts create the global impact.

โ€œArise! Awake! and stop not until the goal is reached.โ€

These are not just beautiful words; they are a call to arms for every young person who believes in their ability to make a difference. To arise means to stand up from the seat of complacency. To awake means to open our eyes to the opportunities and challenges around us. And to stop not means to keep pushing forward, despite challenges, setbacks, or critics. We must never allow fear, lack of resources, or societal doubt to slow us down.

We, the youth, are not just the leaders of tomorrow! we are the drivers of today. If we keep waiting for the future to come, we will find out that others have taken our seat at the table. Thatโ€™s why youth participation in politics is not optional; it is necessary. The decisions made in political spaces determine the future of our education, healthcare, economy, and freedom. If we are not there, we leave those decisions in the hands of people who might not understand our struggles or share our dreams.

Politics is not dirty, it is people who misuse it that give it a bad name. When good, visionary, and honest youths step in, we clean the system, we renew hope, and we create policies that serve everyone, not just a few. That is why I, Adamu Ibrahim Aliyu (AIA), stand as a proud and committed youth with a clear vision for a better Yola South come 2027. I am here to represent the voices of the young and the dreams of the many. I believe in a politics that listens, that builds, and that works for the people especially the youth.

Our generation has the energy, creativity, and courage to solve problems in ways that older systems never imagined. From tech innovations to grassroots campaigns, from community farming to social entrepreneurship, we have shown time and time again that when youth lead, progress follows.

So, on this International Youth Day, I challenge every young person:

โ€ขGet involved in your community.
โ€ขSupport and create initiatives that align with the SDGs.
โ€ขSpeak up, vote, and run for office.
โ€ขBuild skills, share ideas, and support each other.

The future is not a distant dream, it is the choices we make and the actions we take today.

Arise! Awake! And stop not until the goal is reached. The world is waiting, and the time is now.

A NOTE OF APPRECIATION AND GRATITUDE ON BEHALF OF BOLE YOLDE-PATE PEOPLE OF YOLA SOUTH:

Earlier today, beginning from around 12 noon, I had the opportunity to visit the Aliyu Mustapha College IDP Camp in Yola, where some of the victims of the recent devastating floods were temporarily sheltered. I was in the company of my dear brother and friend, the Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) of Shagari Division, along with officers and personnel from the gallant 23 Armoured Brigade, Yola.

While evacuation is currently ongoing and many displaced persons are returning to their homes, I feel deeply moved and compelled to extend my sincere appreciation to all the institutions, agencies, and individuals who have been actively involved in the emergency response, recovery, and care efforts since the unfortunate incident occurred.

I particularly wish to commend the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the North East Development Commission (NEDC), the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force - especially the โ€œShagari Divisionโ€, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, the Red Cross, the Fityanul Islam Aid Group of Nigeria, various non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and many others whose names may not be mentioned, but whose presence and support are profoundly felt.

What I witnessed today was more than just duty, it was humanity in action. I saw, firsthand, how these agencies have worked together selflessly, transparently, and compassionately to provide security, food, shelter, and emotional support to our fellow citizens in need. Theyโ€™ve gone beyond their call of duty to ensure that those affected by this disaster were not left alone in their pain.

The dignity with which the evacuation is being conducted speaks volumes about their commitment to doing what is right and just. The sense of calm and order within the camp is a testament to their tireless work, and for that, we owe them immense gratitude.

To the displaced victims who are returning to their homes today, I pray for your safety, stability, and peace of mind. May this mark the beginning of healing and renewal in your lives. You have shown incredible strength in the face of hardship, and I hope better days lie ahead for every single one of you.

In closing, I extend my deepest appreciation once again to all agencies, volunteers, and kind-hearted individuals who have stood by our people during this difficult time. Your efforts are not only seen they are felt deeply, and they are valued beyond words.

Thank you for being the light in these trying times.

STATEMENT BY ADAMU IBRAHIM ALIYU
Aspirant for Member, Adamawa State House of Assembly Representing (Yola South Constituency)
On the Need for Legislative Action and Accountability Following the Recent Flood Disaster in Yola South

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim,

It is with a heavy heart, yet with deep resolve, that I speak on the tragic and preventable flood disaster that recently struck communities within Yola South most notably Shagari, Bole, Modirei, Behind Ibnu Abbas, and Yold Pate. This flood led to loss of innocent lives, displacement of families, destruction of homes and livelihoods, injuries, and a deeply unsettling emotional toll on our people.

Let me be very clear:

If Yola South had a truly responsive and courageous representation in the Adamawa State House of Assembly, a motion would have been moved without hesitation to demand a full-scale, independent, and professional investigation into the root cause of this devastating incident.

We must no longer be content with weak responses or vague explanations. The narrative that this tragedy was simply due to โ€œheavy rainfallโ€ is far too convenient and frankly, insulting to the intelligence and suffering of our people. If this was only a case of natural rainfall, then why were only the areas around River Chouchi affected? Why didnโ€™t we witness similar damage in other parts of Yola?

There have been consistent speculations about a possible dam-related failure potentially linked to the activities of foreign operators or companies. This theory cannot be swept aside or covered under bureaucratic silence. It must be investigated with seriousness, transparency, and urgency. If it is confirmed that the collapse or manipulation of any dam contributed to this disaster, then those responsible must be held to account, and the victims must be adequately compensated under all applicable legal means.

We cannot afford to play politics with the lives and wellbeing of our people. Silence in the face of tragedy is complicity. This is the kind of moment that demands action not excuses.

It is this very lack of bold, accountable, and youth-driven leadership that underscores my decision to seek office. Yola South deserves better. Our people deserve more. We need leadership that will not wait for tragedy before acting, or speak only when itโ€™s convenient. We need youthful, energetic, and responsive leadership that listens, engages, and fights for the interest of the people at all times.

This flood disaster is not just a natural event. It is a loud warning. It is a call to wake up from years of neglect, poor representation, and political silence in the face of peopleโ€™s pain. And it is high time we, the youth, rise to take our place not for ambition, but for genuine service.

As I look forward to 2027, I do so with a clear message:

Enough is enough!
The people of Yola South must never again be left behind, unheard, or unrepresented when it matters most.

May the souls of those lost rest in peace, may those injured and displaced find healing and hope, and may justice prevail.

A Message of Sympathy, Support, and Solidarity

On behalf of myself and all well-meaning individuals, I extend my heartfelt sympathy to the victims of the recent flooding that affected Shagari, Sabon Pegi, Ibnu Abbas, Modirei and several communities in Yola and its environs.

This unfortunate incident has brought hardship and disruption to many families and individuals, and our thoughts and prayers are firmly with everyone affected.

We acknowledge the efforts of the rescue teams, volunteers, and community members who have continued to assist those in need during this trying time.

May Almighty Allah, in His infinite mercy, bring comfort to the displaced, strength to the affected, and swift recovery to all impacted areas. It is our sincere prayer that life becomes easier and normalcy is restored as quickly as possible.

Let us continue to stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters, offering help where we can and remembering them in our prayers.
