Earlier today, Hon Akin Alabi (honourable representing Egbeda Ona-Ara federal constituency Oyo State) was promoted from the position of Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland to the position of Ajia Olubadan of Ibadanland.

The promotion was conferred by The Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Senator) Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja (Arusa I).

The Arabic phrase is "Nasrun min Allah" (نَصْرٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّٰهِ), which means “Victory comes from God alone.”

It is the motto of the Nigerian Army.

Why It’s There

The motto was originally used by Shehu Usman Dan Fodio, leader of the Sokoto Caliphate.

It was adopted by the British colonial forces (West African Frontier Force) before Nigeria’s independence, and carried over.

According to historical sources, when designing the logo after independence, General David Ejoor included the Arabic inscription to symbolize defence and continuity.

BREAKING NEWS: Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja has reportedly survived an assassination attempt early this morning, just days after handing down the life-sentence to Nnamdi Kanu. He was immediately rushed to a hospital as security forces scrambled to secure the area.
A source said, “This is an outrage. A judge cannot be silenced for simply doing his job.” Another insider added, “If justice is under attack, then the very foundation of law is being threatened.”
