COMRADE OGI FUNME NEWMAN CALLING FOR CALM AND URGENT GOVERNMENT AND THE SECURITY AGENCIES INTERVENTION TO PREVENT AN ESCALATION OF TENSION OVER LAND DISPUTE INVOLVING RENAISSANCE AFRICA ENERGY COMPANY (RAEC) LTD.
Letugbene Federated communities youth Concern Body, seek for an urgent intervention on the presidency of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Executive Governor of Bayelsa state Nigeria, His Excellency Senator Douye Diri and the chairman Ekeremor Local government Area of Bayelsa state and the security agencies to intervene in the brewing crisis between Letugbene and Ogbotobo Communities, involving the Renaissance Africa Energy Company (RAEC) LTD Operation .
Palpable tension has enveloped Letugbene community in Ekeremor Local government Area of Bayelsa state, decried alleged attempt by Ogbotobo Community who forcefully claiming our land and the same time some suspected element of Ogbotobo Community beat up Letugbene community boy to coma that is peacefully passing their water front, he rightly hospitalized in Letugbene community Health center is named TINUS SUNDAY, I think the last meeting the local government chairman held with the both communities, added he also told the both communities leaders to tell their youths to maintained peace and harmony just a short while they will sent an invitation to the both communities again to come for meeting and we the Letugbene peace loving community keep to it, but Ogbotobo Community leaders instigate youths to start beating up Letugbene youth, not that we are afraid of them is because we are law abiding citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Letugbene is a peaceful community located along dodo river in Ekeremor Local government Area of Bayelsa state.
Most of the Ogbotobo people are by birth partly from Letugbene and Ogbotobo Communities all in Bayelsa state.
This urgent save our soul (sos) intervention is to the presidency of Federal Republic of Nigeria, the governor of Bayelsa state and the security agencies. It is a cry borne out of Letugbene existential threat in the hands of the suspected element of Ogbotobo Community.
The death and arson threats issued to our peace loving Letugbene community became intense and indeed climaxed recently. And I captured a statement is the publication of the concern youth of Ogbotobo Community, stated that they will fight with their last drop of blood, and we all knows that where the Renaissance Africa Energy Company RAEC LTD Operation is domicile, that land belong to the peace loving Letugbene community, we are calling for calm and urgent Federal government, state government, chairman Ekeremor Local government Area and the security agencies to intervene to prevent an escalation of tension between Letugbene and Ogbotobo Communities, since no casualties have been officially confirmed .
Therefore we urge the president Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the national Security adviser and the Nigeria security agencies to immediately step in and stop the escalation of the threat.
