PEOPLE AND ELECTORAL STUPIDITY

Is very obvious in this part of the world that 90-95% of citizens are not voting their conscience but the token and the empty promises they have been given for years now

Is so pathetic to know some people are not after the future of their children or children’s children. All they care about is the present moments of share the money and the highest amount wins the office

Some are taking it to be an opportunity that only comes in four years not minding the suffering that will befall them and their offspring

Some are taking it to be a pay back to those politicians that didn’t care for the masses in their past administrations. Forgetting that the peanuts they have been given is nothing compared to the amount these politicians have embezzled

Some are just confused of choice making especially when being flashed with some clean naira notes

Some feels they are wasting their time at the polling unit fighting for someone who will only be concerned about his family members and close friends

Some does not even know the differences between voting for a good and better candidate that may change the situations of things around over time and a greedy candidate who will be after his pocket and that of his generation yet unborn

To be sincere, I angrily left my polling unit today because of what my eyes saw that really got me thinking about the future of our dear state and nation at large

I can’t imagine people rushing to vote for a candidate they were condemning even at the unit because of akara money

I mean. If we continue like this, how then will we be able to have that good life we’ve been praying and dreaming for?

How do we expect a better future when we keep selling out our votes that’s supposed to be our power of change for a better living?

Or, are we okay with praising these politicians just to receive kobo from them and continue living in hardship while they are flourishing with the dividends of democracy that was meant for all?

Think about this, another eight years is about to begin. Hope our choice today will not be our lamentations tomorrow?

Hope money is not flowing in the state will not be our theme song again?

As we are keeping our fingers crossed waiting to hear the final result, May our hope never fail us. Amen!!!
