Sometimes in 2020, Instagram recommended Desola’s account as someone I might know.

Intrigued, I visited her profile to check her out and her stunning beauty caught my attention. I thought to myself, “I may have found my future life partner” Back then, she resided in Boston. Believe me, if I had my way, I would have married her but, life isn’t always perfect. I also found out that she wasn’t prepared for a relationship, and truth be told, I wasn’t completely ready either so, I kept my cards close to my chest.

Fast forward to the summer of 2021, the tides had turned slightly more favourable this time, although life still ain’t perfect. We were both single. However, she had already moved back to Nigeria, and neither of us desired to embark on a long-distance relationship. After talking for a couple of months, we both decided to give it a long shot, and Glory to God, we are here today! 3 years later and 30 flights to you!

We are in Cloud9 for each other.

We’ve been friends on this space since 2019 but had only exchanged pleasantries twice. Fast forward to this year, 3rd of February precisely, I made a random post about the fact that “men should learn to show emotions and not see it as a weakness”. He dropped a comment and came to my dm to further explain his point.

We got talking and finally got to ask questions about ourselves. You know that moment when you chat in-depth with someone for the first time and it feels like you both have known for years right? That was the case! Throughout that day, we were glued to our phones, “getting to know ourselves”.

Fast forward to when he declared his “feelings” for me, I laughed at it and shoved it to the side because being in a relationship wasn’t part of my 2023 plans. He kept pushing and I kept running! I made up a thousand and one reasons to say “NO”, but I guess he knew what he wanted and stuck to it till it became his!

On the 1st of October, after being friends for 8 months, I finally said “Yes” to being in a RELATIONSHIP! I didn’t know things were going to be pretty fast! He wasn’t willing to delay one bit! On the 3rd of November, he proposed! And of course, I already had my “confirmations” about him and there wasn’t any need to say Yes!

Cheers to Mr Tee’s prayer, on the 25th of August, “to gain acceptance before me”😂😂😂 It happened! Today, we publicly let you all in on our love story! It’s the road to “BecomingYours” already 🤭 . This love story is the best you’ll ever witness😁😁

N/B: we attended the same secondary school and were in the same class but we didn’t know ourselves then because he left later. Last month, we found out and laughed hard 😂😂

On the 27th of November, I was legally bonded with MINE under the Marriage Act!

As a lawyer, I understand the legal implications of being recognized by the Court of Law as “ONE”, and trust me, I couldn’t feel happier than saying “YES” to sealing this under the Law!

This love is the one that I can describe as “SUDDENLY” and I will do everything, under God, to preserve it! It’s the type you taste and never want to starve your taste buds of it! It’s the type you embrace and never want to let go of!

We have a love story for you!

HER VERSION

April 18 2022, a post from popular Nigerian Christian blogger Solomon Buchi caught my attention and I decided to go against my usual nature by commenting on the post. I rarely ever comment on instagram nor reply to my DMs but for some reason I commented under this post and Mr Bella slid into my DM.

Anuoluwapo messaged me on instagram April 18 and I replied to him the same day but after that day I did not give him any more attention. Despite our five hour time differences he would wait for me to chat or talk after work and I was still curving him and always forming too busy. I was not just interested in a long distance relationship. In July 2022 I had a long summer break from work to start my graduate program. In the same month we started a new series in my church called preventing marital storms.

One Sunday in July I sent him the link to my live church service to join and listen to the teaching. He joined the service and we started talking about all the points the pastor raised and he would send me more verses on the teaching. After that Sunday we stayed in touch more and we kept sending each other YouTube messages on marriage and godly parenting. It was obvious we have the same goals for marriage.

We kept in touch and the rest they say is history.
