Yesterday, Nollywood actress Osas Ighodaro celebrated her birthday
Born October 26, 1990, in Bronx, New York, USA, to Nigerian parents of Edo origin, Osariemen Martha Elizabeth Ighodaro, popularly known as Osas Ighodaro, is a Nigerian-American actress, television host, producer, and philanthropist.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism with minors in Entrepreneurship and Theatre from Pennsylvania State University, and later obtained a Master of Fine Arts from the Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University.
Osas began her career in New York, performing in theatre and indie films before moving to Nigeria in 2012, where she rose to fame through her role as Adanna in Tinsel.
She has since starred in several hit films including Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story, Man of God, New Money, Merry Men: The Real Yoruba Demons, King of Boys, Love, Lust & Other Things, Mamba’s Diamond, and Namaste Wahala.
Osas is the founder of the Joyful Joy Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and funds for the fight against malaria in Africa.
She has hosted top shows like The Headies Awards (2022 & 2023), Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (2014), and Maltina Dance All.
The award-winning star was crowned Miss Black USA 2010, and later won Best Actress in a Drama at the 2022 & 2023 AMVCAs for her outstanding roles in Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story and Man of God.
She was once married to actor Gbenro Ajibade (2015–2019), and they share a daughter together.
