NIGERIA YOUTH COALITION BERATES ATIKU, OBI, EL-RUFAI, AMAECHI, AREGBESOLA, AND OTHERS OVER ADOPTION OF ADC
..DECLARES SUPPORT FOR PRESIDENT TINUBU, AKPABIO

By our reporter.

Youth leaders across the country, under the aegis of the Nigeria Youth Coalition, led by Chief Victor Thompson, have berated former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, former Governor of Anambra State Peter Obi, former Governor of Rivers State Rotimi Amaechi, former Governor of Kaduna State Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, former Governor of Osun State Rauf Aregbesola, and others over the adoption of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The convener of the group, in a world press conference held in the nation's capital, Abuja, Chief Thompson, flanked by other prominent youth leaders across the country, questioned the integrity and character of the individuals involved in the coalition and their individual roles in the economic challenges currently faced by the country. He maintained that these individuals have no moral right to form a selfish group to unseat President Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in the next general elections in 2027.

Part of the message reads, "Never will it be heard or read in the annals of this nation's history that in our generation, Nigerian youths took a stand with the very same set of people who betrayed this nation over and over again and would do so again if given the opportunity. We urge every well-meaning Nigerian to carefully scrutinize each of the individuals in charge of this so-called coalition."

He further warned the players of the coalition to desist forthwith from causing unnecessary political tension in the country, as Nigerian youths will not fail to organize a massive protest against their selfish political interests. Chief Thompson, on behalf of the Nigerian Youth Coalition, lauded President Tinubu for the economic reforms, the infrastructural renaissance, and the human capital development programs undertaken by his administration since assuming office in 2023.

He further urged President Tinubu not to be distracted by the political buccaneers and scavengers without any interest in the Nigerian people. On behalf of the youth coalition, he declared an unalloyed support and loyalty to the President and the Senate President, Chief Godswill Akpabio (GCON), in 2027.

Also lending his voice in solidarity with the coalition was the Director-General of the City Boy Movement, Hon. Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, who commended Nigerian youths for their support for Mr. President and drummed up support for the President's re-election.

Other speakers included Hon. Salisu Pawa, a representative of North Central Youths; Hon. Sandra Bassey, National President, Forum of Past and Present Female Councillors in Nigeria; Hon. Samuel Jim, a representative of the Niger Delta Youths Vanguard; Comrade Shola Abiodun, representative of the Arewa Youths; and other prominent youth leaders across the country. They all spoke in glowing terms of the President Bola Tinubu-led administration.

Senator Emmanuel Ibokessien: Why Not Maintain Status Quo, Ante Bellum?

Last week, video and news stories circulated on social media where a former Deputy Whip of the Nigerian Senate and an elder statesman, Senator Emmanuel Ibokessien, openly endorsed the Board Member of the South East Development Commission, Obong Kufre Inima (Kokoty), as the Political Leader of Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area. This statement was made during the formal defection of PDP members into the APC, with the former Senator, State Chairman of APC, Honourable Commissioner, Nsikak Ekong, Council Boss, and several other critical stakeholders of the APC in attendance. The action of Senator Ibokessien was greeted with excitement and commendation, especially from youths across the state, that indeed, elders will sit behind and offer advisory roles in leadership.

However, in a surprising turn of events, I woke up to read a rebuttal signed personally by the former Senator, stating that he never relinquished political leadership to anyone and that he remains the Political Leader of the oldest Local Government Area in Nigeria. This statement was met with widespread criticism and condemnation from Akwa Ibomites, having watched the earlier video where Senator Ibokessien openly endorsed Kokoty.

I am curious to ask, what really changed? Is it that Senator Ibokessien cannot stand his ground or keep to his words as an elder statesman, a father, and an experienced politician? Why the sudden change of the mouth? Who is playing the music for the elder statesman behind? Where is the instruction coming from? Many questions are seeking answers.

I think that Senator Ibokessien should be a man of his words for once and let sleeping dogs lie rather than the unnecessary tension he is trying to cause in Ikot Ekpene APC. One clear fact is that the decampees joining APC are with a selfish agenda of taking over the structure of APC. I hear them say that since the Governor, who is their leader, was recently declared

Good morning Nigeria!

Yesterday, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, during the reception of Governor Umo Eno into the APC by the national leadership of the party, the Political Leader of Oruk Anam Ward 11 (14), Chief Victor Thompson, was present and met with the son of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mr. Seyi Tinubu, who also happens to be his boss.

With the tête-à-tête yesterday, Ward 11 (14) should be rest assured of being linked to the center.

INT'L DAY OF RURAL WOMEN & WORLD FOOD DAY BY Citizens Outreach NG

-Celebrating Real Heroines

Sunday October 16, 2023, began on a bright note as our team of young volunteers set out for the events billed to celebrate the women in Ikot Akpa Ekop, Mkpat Enin LGA of Akwa Ibom State. The enthusiasm was great and we moved in high spirit to the first port of call.

The Apostolic Church Nigeria, Ikot Akpa Ekop Assembly is located at a junction about half a kilometer from our temporary camp in the village. We arrived the Church in the morning, clad in white to join Sunday morning service. Our presence sparked great excitement in as the atmosphere was highly electrifying.

The Vice Chairman of Mkpat Enin Local Government Council, Lady Mercy Bassey graced the service and upon her recognition, she mounted the podium and addressed the women on very key issues. She made a case for self-care with particular focus on healthy lifestyle including proper and regular medical checkup, habitual rest, among others.

The visibly excited women, prayed for us and thanked the CitOut for considering them in this year's celebration of rural women. They were particularly thankful for the soft empowerment packages they received from CitOut.

The Church engagements gave a clue on the peak of celebration later that evening. It was a celebration of real heroines.

A CLARION CALL TO AKWA IBOM

- Emediong Daniel Mrink

As the administration of Gov Udom Emmanuel wraps up on Monday 29th May, Akwa Ibomites are eager to welcome in a fresh leadership for the state, as Pastor Umo Eno takes over the reigns of power.

The ARISE AGENDA of Pastor Umo Eno captures key relevant sectors of the economy, including Agricultural Revolution, Rural Development, Infrastructural Consolidation, Sustainable Peace and Security and Economic Empowerment.
A careful look into this policy document reveals a people centered administration that is poised at wealth creation for the people of the state in a well secured and peaceful environment, which will further serve as an investment heaven for local and foreign investors, thereby boosting the local economy.

Given Pastor Eno's background in the private sector alongside his pedigree as a seasoned entrepreneur of no mean repute, one will readily admit that he possesses the required skills and know how to put the ARISE AGENDA to work within months in office.

It is however worthy to note that his administration will not achieve so much as stated without effective collaboration from all and sundry. It is on this note that I put this clarion call to Akwa Ibomite across all walks of life and indeed visitors to the state, to give in their unflinching support, loyalty and solidarity to the incoming government.

While acknowledging criticisms as a tool of putting government on track, it should be constructive and not destructive, so as to avoid unnecessary distractions.
This is only when the state will reap from the dividends of democracy during the Golden Era administration of Pastor Umo Bassey Eno.
