So, what does a digital marketer actually do?
A lot more than just posting on social media.
A digital marketer can work on things like content, SEO, social media, paid advertising, email marketing and analytics. The goal is to use these different digital channels to help a business attract people, engage them and ultimately grow.
And this is where we often see beginners get stuck.
They hear all these different areas and think:
“Okay, so I need to learn all of them.”
Not exactly.
You don’t have to become everything in digital marketing at once.
Digital marketing is a big field. There are different areas you can build a career around, and each one requires a different set of skills.
As a beginner, your first job is to understand the basics.
Learn how digital marketing works.
Understand the different areas.
Try a few things.
Then, as your knowledge grows, you can start asking:
“Which part do I actually want to get really good at?”
Maybe it’s SEO.
Maybe it’s content.
Maybe it’s social media.
Maybe it’s paid advertising or analytics.
You can eventually specialise, but you need the foundation first.
Think of it like building a house.
You don’t start with the roof. You start with the foundation.
So if you’re considering a career in digital marketing, don’t pressure yourself to know everything on day one.
Start with the basics. Build your knowledge. Find your area. Then go deeper.
Now, we want to hear from you.
