THE PURPORTED DEFECTION OF IKA YPP OFFICIALS: A SHEER DECEPTION BY PDP NAYSAYERS

The attention of the Akwa-Ubok Abasi Campaign Organization (Ika Chapter) has been drawn to a stage-managed drama of defection that purportedly swept the Ika Chapter of the Young Progressives Party (YPP). Inasmuch as it is wise to not lend a shoulder of publicity to the poorly scripted and hilariously acted drama, the Ika Chapter of the YPP considers it even wiser to set the records straight, so as to prevent anyone from misleading innocent members of the public.

1. The purported defection was clearly stage-managed. It is a cheap scam perpetrated by one Hon Gabriel Toby, chiefly to deceive and perhaps defraud his paymaster (Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem) who arguably was the producer of the poorly acted drama of deception, especially as was seen in the order of photographs along with the cast.

2. We wish to state clearly that, of all the actors of the Gabriel Toby led drama, only one Samuel Johnny Akpan was an official of the Ika Chapter of the YPP. He was supposed to ACT as the deputy chairman. However, it is at this point worthwhile to inform the public about certain things concerning Mr Akpan, the supposed deputy chairman.

(a) He was never actively involved in the activities of the Party, in and outside Ika.
(b) The supposed deputy chairman had (from the inception of the party in Ika) always wanted to USURP five key positions of the party in Ika, with the mischievous intention of sharing one to his girlfriend and the rest to members of his cooperative society who he claims to be in control of.

Against the supposed deputy chairman's desires, particularly because the YPP is a Party that stands for fairness, equity and justice, we the Party Executives in Ika stood our grounds and denied Mr Samuel Akpan his mischievous and overly selfish demands. This has always been the reason for his unending bitterness.

As it is today, we in Ika Chapter of the YPP are more than happy to see Hon. Gabriel Toby help cut off the cancer in our own party, even as he unfortunately plants the same cancer in his own party, the PDP. Funny, but sad for the PDP. A tragicomedy, indeed.

3. In the poorly acted tragicomedy of defection, from the supposed letters of resignation, many cases of sheer impersonation abound.
(a) One Mrs Goodness James Asukwo claimed to have been the women leader of the YPP in Ika. As funny as her claim sounds, it is completely false. The Ika Chapter of the YPP has no human being with that name as the women leader. The women leader is always Mrs. Akemini Godwin Idungafa.

In that thread of Toby's drama, one Emmanuel Japhet Inyang claimed to be the Ward Chairman of the YPP in Achan Ward 1. As seen in his supposed letter of resignation from the position of the ward chairman, Mr Inyang had earlier claimed to be the ward chairman of the YPP in Achan Ward 3.
While we refuse to pay no attention to the infantile drama of confusion here, we wish to state clearly that the Ika Chapter of the YPP does not have any ward chairman anywhere in Ika by the name Emmanuel Japhet Inyang. The chairman of our party in Achan Ward 1 (against Inyangs claim) has always been Mr Dopse Friday, and it remains so until date. We can now see clearly how unrelated these names are - another evidence of Gabriel Toby's ineptitude in his script acted upon by his co-opted actors.

4. In addition, the general public must be informed that almost all the actors of Toby's stage-managed defection were no official members of the YPP.
It is worthy to note that even some of the purported defectors are registered members of the APC in Ika, as duly confirmed by the Chapter Chairman of the APC in Ika. We know that miracles are possible, but how can members of the APC defect from the YPP? A tragicomedy, indeed.

5. Furthermore, we wish to remind the leaders and scriptwriters of the poorly-acted drama of defection that it requires a highly politically intelligent person to successfully stage the drama that they made a very poor attempt on. At least, some sort of research needed to be conducted before staging the woefully failed drama.

If Toby himself did any research before embarking on the failed drama of defection, he would have at least found out that the Ika Chapter of the YPP does not have any position known as unit defenders, as claimed by the supposed defectors. How funny! It seems a scammer also got scammed here. A tragicomedy, indeed.

6. Overall, we wish to state unequivocally that the Ika Chapter of the YPP, together with the Akwa-Ubok Abasi Campaign Council in Ika, is intact and fully operational. We therefore urge members of the public to completely discard the stage-managed drama of defection, as it holds no water against our commitment to giving good governance to the Akwa Ibom people through the election of Distinguish Sen. (Obong) Bassey Albert Akpan (OBA) CON as governor come 2023.

God bless you
God bless the YPP
God bless Akwa Ibom State

Signed:

Bishop James Ambrose
Chairman, Akwa-Ubok Abasi Campaign Organization
Ika Chapter.

I WILL NOT DISAPPOINT GOD -OBA VOWS

- As he attends Annual General Convention of The Divine African Church of Nigeria

It was an exciting moment in the presence of God when The Divine African Church of Nigeria, Etinan hosted the gubernatorial candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in Akwa Ibom State, Senator Bassey Albert Akpan, during her 2022 annual convention.

Senator Bassey Albert who expressed appreciation to God for what he has done for him, his family and the campaign organization said he will never disappoint God.

"What we witness today shows that the church belongs to God and not man. When you come into the presence of God, you feel the unction. I want to assure this church that I will not disappoint God. This is the time the church must rise and and speak. I want to assure you, our spirit and thoughts are with you".

OBA charged the congregation to take advantage of INEC’s display of voter’s register, to confirm inclusion of their names and also to arm themselves with their voters' cards in order to help them vote for a better government.

"When the righteous is on the throne, the people rejoice. If the people are not rejoicing, there is a problem. That is why you should get your permanent voter’s card so that God can use you to answer your prayers".

Sir Emem Akpabio, chairman of Akwa Ubok Abasi Campaign Council, expressed the belief that God will use OBA to redeem Akwa Ibom people from the shackles of impoverishment currently being witnessed in the state.

In his sermon, Apostle I. J. Amos on the topic "The Free Gift of Salvation" read from John 3:16 and said God is a giver, just like he gave his son for the entire humanity

"Gift is something received freely without seeking or agitating for. Gift of salvation is deliverance from God who does that without charging any fee. The guest in our midst started this journey with God. Since he believes in God and seeks God's strength, God will give him his heart desire”.

The church later offered prayers for the governorship candidate.

YPP GOVERNMENT TO FIGHT HUNGER, EMPOWER WOMEN, PAY BURSARIES TO STUDENTS

Ikot Ekpene Local Government is soon to regain its lost glory, as it is about to be repositioned to become a major international raffia market, where its mass products will be refined for exports.

As a major link to Aba, the commercial status of the raffia city, according to the governorship candidate of YPP, Senator Bassey Albert Akpan(OBA), CON, will be enhanced to provide meaningful engagements and boost the state economy.

OBA, while addressing wards 7,10 & 11 in Ikot Ekpene on November 18, 2022, also promised to link the communities in wards 5 to 11 by constructing the long abandoned bridge there to service Amanyam, Ikot Abia Idem and Mbiaso.

He also promised them to fix the deplorable Uruk Uso - Ikot Abia Ossom Road as well as the Spring Road, to provide smooth access to Goretti Girls Secondary School.

The first Primary School in Anwa Udo Akai area, which has been completely vandalised and rendered unusable, will be refurbished and put back to full effect by the YPP government.

Additionally, while stressing that he knows the value of education, having sponsored over 481 Akwa Ibom students through the university, OBA promised that the State Library in Ikot Ekpene, which has been in a terrible condition for years will be rehabilitated.

While declaring that the 2023 election will be β€œa competition between the choice of God and the choice of man”, he promised to check hunger and provide basic other amenities for the people.

"We move from ward-to-ward because I want to see how my people fare. I will challenge hunger, as I have come to you. YPP has come to change your sorrows.Operation Basic Amenities (OBA) means within one kilometer radius, there will be secondary school, primary school, and health center. Under our agricultural program, we will empower our women…Every village has women. I will ensure we empower women with funds, for their businesses", he said.

OBA drew the voters’ attention to the past seven and a half years of starvation under the current government, charging them to ask the relevant questions, while he also promised them that his government will change things for the better.

β€œThey have starved you for the past seven years. Use the anger of being starved to vote them out. Governor Wike has said that the money he used to build cardio - vascular hospital, brand new law school, university of science and technology, thirteen flyovers of about 850 metres is the same money other South South governors are receiving. Where is the one of Akwa Ibom? I thank God, they cannot deceive us again. Governor Udom has collected more than N3 trillion, so far".

The lawmaker said he was offered a bribe worth billions to bury his mission to serve the people, but he rejected because he was determined to rescue the masses from the mis-governance of the current administration.

"They told me to come and take billions of naira and go back to Senate, I told them no. They kept money to come and buy you as we are about to have elections. Why have they not been giving you since"?

Sir Emem Akpabio, Chairman of Akwa Ubok Abasi Campaign Council, while introducing OBA, said the people can no longer be deceived.

"I challenge them to tell the people why the Sheraton Hotel which has been completed since 2015 has not been opened till today. They said there is nothing in government, then let them quit for he who can perform to take over", he said, charging the youths to reject imposition but to vote competence in order to end hunger in the state.

Apostle Nyeneime Andy, Chairman of the YPP in Akwa Ibom State, in his speech, said that the party has set a trail by campaigning from ward-to-ward. He later showed the people how to vote YPP in the next year's elections, by the printing the second box from the bottom of the ballot paper.

The Director-General of Akwa Ubok Abasi Campaign Council, Pastor Sunny Ibuot, in his speech, poured encomiums on OBA for being an epitome of kindness, who believes that everyone should enjoy the dividends of good governance.

Earlier at the palace of the Paramount Ruler of Ikot Ekpene, HRM Okuku Okon Udo Ukut, the senator had received royal blessings, after paying homage to the traditional institution .
