He is not Benin guy as many believe.
His name is Onyebuchi Franklin popularly known as Bucci Franklin, a fast-rising Nigerian actor, model, presenter and television personality.
Franklin was born June 9, 1986 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, in the southern part of Nigeria. He's currently 39 years old. He's an Igbo man who hails from Nkwerre, Imo State.
He has had his primary school education in Bereton Primary School and secondary school education in New Covenant Secondary School in Port Harcourt, where he thrived in stage plays and school performance.
After his primary and secondary school education, he went to University of Abuja and bagged a Bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts.
In an interview, Franklin has stated that he had in the past rejected roles that didn't connect with him, because he believes acting isn't just a job. Every role he takes must reflect something real.
In 2013, he transitioned fully into Nollywood. His breakthrough came with significant roles in Knockout Blessing (2018) and Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story (2020), playing alongside Stan Nze.
In July 2025, he stunned audiences worldwide with his portrayal of Oboz in Kemi Adetiba's Netflix crime thriller film series "To Kill a Monkey". His performance earned him reviews, and critics across Africa and beyond.
He is known for Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story (2020), Far From Home (2022), The Weekend (2024), To Kill A Monkey (2025).
Franklin has always been an amazing actor. He has an innate ability to suck you into a character. He will annoy you. He will make you want to break his head, yet when they kíll him, you will grieve.
He is an excellent actor. He really deserves an AMVCA.
Franklin keeps his personal life private, but he's rumored to be in a relationship with fellow colleague, actress Shine Rosman.
