GOV ENO RECEIVES REPORT FROM SPECIAL COMMITTEE ON PALLIATIVES

Akwa Ibom State Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, today received a report from the Palliative Committee set up by the State Government to recommend measures to cushion the effects of the fuel subsidy removal on the less privileged in the society.

The brief ceremony which took place at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Uyo, witnessed the presentation of the recommendations, by the chairman of the Committee and Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah.

The State Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi and other State Executive Council members, witnessed the occasion.

PHOTOS: General Reunites With Sergeant Who Was Good To Him In His Days As A Young Officer

The General Officer Commanding GOC 2 Division, Ibadan, Major General VT Okoro, recently reunited with his first Chief Sergeant Major, WO Adegoke (Rtd.), years after they first met in the army.

According to a tweet posted Sunday by one of Nigeria’s foremost military blogs,…, Adegoke, who was known as DanArewa in the army, and the Maj-Gen. Okoro met while the army general was a young officer at a military formation in Jos, Plateau State.

Although the blog post did not indicate the nature of their relationship at the time, it insinuated that Adegoke was good to the then-young officer.

The tweet read, "This is Major General VT Okoro, General Officer Commanding GOC 2 Division, Ibadan, who traced his first Chief Sergeant Major CSM when he was posted as a young officer to 93 Battalion in Jos.

"The name of the CSM is WO Adegoke Alias DanArewa Rtd. He traced him in Ibadan.

"In all you do in this uniform today always be good, for one day you will leave the job for others."

Akwa Ibom State Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno and wife, Her Excellency, Pastor (Mrs) Patience Umo Eno, today worshipped at All Nations Christian Ministries Int'l. in a service commemorating the church’s 19th Anniversary & Discovery Convention. The convention anchored on the theme "Rebuilding the Tabernacle of David (Act 15:16), was held at the Church’s auditorium in Eket.

In attendance included the Deputy Governor, Her Excellency, Dr Akon Eyakenyi, Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Udeme Otong, state exco members and several top Christian clerics.

A'IBOM PDP RE-ENERGIZES GRASSROOTS STRUCTURE, COMMITS TO THE SUCCESS OF ARISE AGENDA
.. As Gov Eno Assures of Political Inclusion, Stability and Development
.. State-wide ward meeting records massive success

In a fresh bid to strengthen the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State, stakeholders and leaders of the party have moved to re-energize the grassroots structure, while reaching a concensus to support and see to the success of the ARISE Agenda of Governor Umo Eno whom they say is the symbol of the party's development ideals in the state.

Following the directive of the party leadership in the state, a state-wide ward meeting which held Saturday August 26, deliberated on issues of party affair at the grassroots, seeking more ways to further deepen the roots of PDP in all communities in the state and resolving to firmly support the vision of Governor Umo Eno to take Akwa Ibom State further to greater height.

In Ibiakpan - Obotim Ward 2, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, Governor Umo Eno who attended the meeting, thanked leaders and members of the party for not wavering in their support, restating his commitment to entrench stability and inclusion in the polity with key focus on building community - based cohesion and people oriented governance.

He stated that the ARISE Agenda is on course and soon enough, full implementation of his blueprint will be seen which he pointed are directed at uplifting the people and meeting the needs and aspirations of Akwa Ibomites.

The Speaker Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Elder Udeme Otong, while enumerating gains of the current administration thanked his people for staying true to the party and urged them to do more at repositioning the area to draw massive benefits from the ARISE Agenda.

GOV ENO PARTICIPATES IN STATE WIDE ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION

Akwa Ibom State Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, today at Eket Local Government Area, took the lead in keeping the State clean during the State wide Environmental Sanitation and called on residents of the State to keep their surroundings clean for a healthy living and to avert the 2023 flood predictions by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency, NIMET.

During the Sanitation, Governor Eno personally participated in the desilting of gutters along Eket - Oron Road, Park Road and Grace Bill Road.

'No Evidence, You Go Explain Tire', Burna Boy's Popular Saying Appears in UNIUYO Exam Question

A saying popularised by Nigerian singer Damini Ogulu also known as Burna Boy, "No evidence, you go explain tire", has appeared in an examination question from the University of Uyo in Akwa Ibom State.

The saying appeared in question five of the exam written by 400-level students of the Department of History and International Studies.

Facebook user, Effiong G Victor, shared a copy of the examination question paper on a Facebook platform, Yorochi Tv.

The question reads, “'How is the nature of history demonstrated in the trending cliche of Nigeria's music icon, Burna Boy, that: "no evidence, you go explain tire"?'

Burna Boy's "No evidence, you go explain tire" started during the singer’s Instagram live session with fans.

While speaking Burna Boy said, “If you no make am, no evidence say you try your best. You go dey explain tire. You go explain explain explain because no evidence say you try your best if you no make am.”

A.R.I.S.E. AGENDA : GOV ENO DIRECTS COMMENCEMENT OF CONSTRUCTION OF A MODEL HEALTH CENTRE FOR IKOT NKWO, IBESIKPO ASUTAN LGA
.. lauds community on land donation, self-help initiative.

The A.R.I.S.E. Agenda blueprint of Governor Umo Eno led-administration in Akwa Ibom State has assuaged the age- long yearnings of the people of Ikot Nkwo in Ibesikpo-Asutan Local Government Area for a healthcare facility as the Governor has directed immediate construction of a model Healthcare center in the area.

The directive came on the heals of Governor Eno's inspection tour of a health post in Ikot Nkwo -Asutan, where he discovered to his consternation that the primary healthcare facility has, over the years, been rendering its services to the locals in a shared accommodation with the Village Council and ordered for the commencement of work for a model Healthcare Centre to facilitate the relocation of the Health Post.

Speaking while inspecting the Health Post and parcel of land donated by the community to the state government for the primary healthcare facility, Governor Eno commended the self-help efforts of Ikot Nkwo community and their magnanimity in sacrificing the parcel of land for the health center, describing the gesture as a demonstration of goodwill and acceptability of government development drive and donated ten million naira to the community .

"We want to thank the entire village and the village council for donating this land. Provision of this land as far as I'm concerned, is a major stake that the community has done. Since you have accepted development, I want to assure you that development has come into this community.

“I assure you that in the next one week, work will commence on this site", he assured.

The gesture, he added, underscores their collaboration as stakeholders in the development of the community and actualization of the goals of A.R.I.S.E. Agenda.
