JOY AND SORROW ENTWINED
On the evening of Friday, 13th June 2025, my wife and I embarked on a journey to the healthcare center, eagerly anticipating the arrival of our newborn baby. As she began feeling the baby's movements, we knew the time had come. However, despite the excitement, the night wore on without any signs of delivery.
The same uncertainty continued into Saturday, 14th June 2025. But on Sunday, 15th June 2025, our patience was rewarded as my wife finally gave birth to our beautiful baby. I was overjoyed, lying beside our newborn, filled with happiness and anticipation of meeting my wife in the ward with our new baby.
Tragically, complications arose when the placenta couldn't be delivered naturally. Despite the nurses' best efforts and the doctor's intervention, they successfully removed the placenta from my wife's womb. As the nurse prepared to take my wife to the ward, she suddenly became unconscious. We tried various remedies, from feeding her soup to administering medication, but none seemed to work. Despite prayers and medical interventions, her condition deteriorated rapidly.
In desperation, we rushed her to another hospital, hoping for a miracle. Unfortunately, the outcome was the same. My REV. pastor and spiritual leader arrived, offering prayers and support, but it was too late. The doctor's words still echo in my mind: "We've lost her."
The reality of her passing didn't sink in until I saw her lifeless body. With a heavy heart, I gathered the strength to take her body to the mortuary, accompanied by friends and in-laws. Leaving her there was one of the most difficult things I've ever done.
Now, I'm left to care for our newborn baby and my two other boys, navigating this new reality without my partner. It's a challenge, but I'll do everything to ensure our children are loved and cared for.
This experience has taught me the importance of cherishing every moment and appreciating the precious time we have with loved ones.
THIS UGLY EXPERIENCE SHALL NEVER BE NEAR YOU.
