In my opinion, the mother did the right thing. Religious and over righteous people would say she should have been allowed to birth the child, that's your opinion.
But,
Have you considered the emotional torture she would be subjected to during those nine months?
How about the period of nurturing the baby?
Have you considered that this girl's life would be paused for about three years minimum before she can face her future again?
The mistake has been made, whose responsibility notwithstanding but saying she should birth the child as a punishment or whatever would not only affect the girl in question, the entire family would be dragged into it.
She can still learn her lessons...
Leave her mother alone.
Most of you are as terrible as anything, despite all the moral principles your parents tried to instill in you. What you do under closed doors only God can tell.
And, no one dares to talk about the guy who impregnated the girl that, while the girl is said to be allowed to face her mess for at least three years, the guy would be forging ahead.
