FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, STATES, AND LOCAL GOVERNMENTS SHARE N1.818 TRILLION IN JUNE 2025 REVENUE

The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has announced the distribution of N1.818 trillion to the Federal Government, 36 states, and 774 local government councils for June 2025. This allocation was made following the meeting held in Abuja.

The total distributable revenue includes N1.018 trillion from statutory revenue and N631.507 billion from Value Added Tax (VAT).

According to the breakdown, the Federal Government will receive N645.383 billion, while state governments will get N607.417 billion, and local government councils will receive N444.853 billion.

The gross statutory revenue for June 2025 rose significantly to N3.485 trillion, representing an increase of N1.390 trillion compared to the N2.094 trillion recorded in May 2025.

However, VAT revenue experienced a decline, dropping by N64.655 billion from N742.820 billion in May to N678.165 billion in June.

The FAAC allocation is expected to support the development of various sectors and enhance the economic well-being of Nigerians.

- Mrs. Tomi Somefun (Oyo State) as Managing Director of the National Hydro-Electric Power Areas Development Commission (HYPPADEC)
- Dr. Abdulmumini Mohammed Aminu-Zaria (Kaduna State) as Executive Director of the Nigerian Integrated Water Resources Management Commission (NIWRMC)

Naira Shows Stability in Forex Market

This stability is attributed to increased foreign exchange inflows, recent monetary and fiscal reforms, and a boost in foreign reserves, which climbed to $37.78 billion. The Central Bank of Nigeria's efforts to stabilize the Naira and attract foreign investment appear to be yielding positive results.

However, the inflation rate remains a concern, with a rate of 22.22% in June 2025. Despite this, the Naira's stability in the forex market is a welcome development for the Nigerian economy.
