Important notice, for those waiting to start monetizing their pages from July in Nigeria based on the popular news which states Nigeria will be eligible for monetization, sorry you will not be able to monetize as Nigeria will not be eligible for monetization (Open Policy monetization for in-stream ads). The news you heard was misinformation. It was not accurately reported.
There are many monetization tools on Facebook such as brand colab, stars, instant articles (now discontinued), in-stream ads, etc. Amongst the aforementioned, the one that guarantees good revenue is in-stream ads which allows Facebook to place ads on your videos, and share the ads revenue with you, 55% for Facebook and 45% for you.
Sadly, you cannot get this yet in Nigeria and Ghana, and I donβt know when you will get it, but we are still applying for Nigeria, Kenya, and Ghana to all have access to this tools. For now, only South Africa and Egypt have access to this tool via the open policy monetization program. The only way the other 3 countries can access this tool is through the closed monetization policy, which is getting onboarded by an official Facebook CPS, and there are only two CSP company in the whole of Africa. Anything else is illegal and has consequences.
Also, for those of you who are doing follow for follow, I donβt know where you got that from, but sorry you wonβt be able to monetize even through a CSP and even when the Open Policy program is available. The program is for authentic content creators.
