Yesterday, I inaugurated the Oruk Anam Local Government Sanitation Committee as part of my administration's commitment to building a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable Oruk Anam.

I charged members to work diligently by coordinating sanitation activities, mobilising communities, and ensuring compliance with environmental sanitation regulations across our major roads and public spaces.

I also appointed team leaders to oversee sanitation efforts in designated road corridors and urged them to provide effective leadership in promoting environmental hygiene.

I appreciate the committee members for accepting this responsibility. I am confident they will work closely with our communities and stakeholders to make Oruk Anam one of the cleanest local government areas in Akwa Ibom State.

On Sunday, July 12, 2026, my dear wife and I, joined the Member representing Oruk Anam State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Sampson Idiong, and other members of the 8th Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly at a thanksgiving service organised by the lawmakers to commemorate their third anniversary in office.

The thanksgiving service held at Immanuel Methodist Cathedral, Uyo, and brought together political leaders, government officials, party faithful, and worshippers in gratitude for God's faithfulness throughout the lawmakers' three years of legislative service.

Peace and security remain the foundation of sustainable development in Oruk Anam. As such, I joined other stakeholders at the Security Town Hall Meeting convened by the Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State Command, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, fsi, for the Etim Ekpo Area Command.

I reaffirmed that the relative peace enjoyed in Oruk Anam is the product of deliberate investment in community-based security, strengthened grassroots intelligence, through the Oruk Anam Community Safety Partnership Corps and our close collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, Village Youth Presidents, traditional institutions, and other community stakeholders.

I also commended His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, PhD, for the planned integration of Village Youth Presidents into the Ibom Community Watch. This initiative will further deepen community policing, enhance intelligence gathering, and strengthen the protection of lives and property across our state.

Security is everyone's responsibility. As an administration, we will continue to support our security agencies, strengthen community partnerships, and implement proactive measures that will keep Oruk Anam peaceful, safe, and conducive to growth and development.

Together, we will sustain the peace and build a more secure Oruk Anam.

Yesterday, I had the honour of participating as a panellist at the Leadership Anniversary Summit of the Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District Media Advocates (ISDMA), where we reflected on the importance of collaborative leadership in advancing the peace and development of Akwa Ibom State.

I reaffirmed my belief that the cordial working relationship between His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, PhD, and the President of the Senate, Distinguished Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, GCON, has continued to foster political stability, strengthen governance, and accelerate development across our dear state.

I also encouraged leaders to embrace dialogue, mutual respect, and partnership as the surest path to sustainable progress.

I am deeply humbled to have been honoured with the Most Media-Friendly Local Government Chairman in Akwa Ibom State Award. I dedicate this recognition to the good people of Oruk Anam and to our vibrant media professionals whose commitment to truth and responsible journalism inspires us to serve with greater transparency and accountability.

I had the pleasure of welcoming members of the 2026 Batch 'B' Stream I of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to my office at the Oruk Anam Local Government Council Secretariat.

I assured them of my administration's commitment to their safety, welfare, and well-being throughout their service year in Oruk Anam. Our corps members are important partners in grassroots development, and I encouraged them to serve with dedication, integrity, and patriotism while making meaningful contributions to our communities.

I appreciate the Local Government Inspector, Mr. Ndifreke Essien, and the corps members for the courtesy visit and for their readiness to support educational advancement and community development in Oruk Anam.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of receiving the newly appointed Commandant of the Nigerian Navy Military School, Ikot Ntuen, Navy Captain A. O. Akinyinka, and his management team during a familiarization visit to my office.

Our discussion centered on strengthening collaboration between the Oruk Anam Local Government Council and the Nigerian Navy Military School to advance educational development and create a more enabling environment for learning and service.

I reaffirmed my administration's commitment to supporting initiatives that promote quality education and assured the Commandant of our readiness to work with relevant stakeholders in addressing the school's needs, including its proposed expansion.

Yesterday, I had the honour of receiving the Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State Command, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, fsi, alongside his Rivers State counterpart, CP Olugbenga Adepoju Adewole, during their joint operational security visit to the Akwa Ibom–Rivers boundary along the East-West Road in Oruk Anam.

I commend the strong collaboration between the Akwa Ibom and Rivers State Police Commands in strengthening security, enhancing intelligence sharing, and combating cross-border crime.

As Chairman of Oruk Anam Local Government Council, I remain committed to supporting every genuine effort that promotes peace, protects lives and property, and ensures the safety of our people.

I was deeply honoured and pleasantly surprised as members of the Oruk Anam Local Government Executive Council celebrated my birthday on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, days after my birthday anniversary.

The Vice Chairman, Hon. Akam Etiebet, on behalf of the Executive Council, conveyed heartfelt goodwill messages and presented a birthday gift, while the Secretary of Council, Surveyor Saviour Inyang, offered prayers and words of encouragement.

I sincerely appreciate this show of love, support, and solidarity. Such gestures strengthen my resolve to remain committed to the ideals of the ASSURED Agenda and the continued development of Oruk Anam.
