OBOBONGAWAN EKPO OHO REASSURES OBRURA OWAKANDE, BAJUA COMMUNITIES OF PROJECT RENEWAL
The Managing Director/CEO of the Cross River Basin Development Authority (CRBDA), Obongawan (Mrs.) Glory Ekpo Oho, on Tuesday played host to leaders of Obubra Owakande and Bajua communities at the Authority’s headquarters in Calabar, reaffirming her administration’s commitment to revitalising projects within their domain.
Receiving the chiefs, elders and youth leaders, Obongawan Ekpo Oho appreciated their show of solidarity and disclosed that key projects across the Ikom corridor have already been captured in the proposed 2026 budget—reflecting CRBDA’s renewed focus on community-impact initiatives under her leadership.
She further addressed concerns over delays in finalising the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), assuring that the process was nearing completion. The MD commended the communities, especially the youths, for maintaining peace and demonstrating maturity in their engagements with the Authority.
Earlier, the delegation said their visit was to formally welcome the new management and highlight the state of ongoing and stalled CRBDA projects in their area. They expressed confidence in the MD’s leadership and the direction of the Authority.
The interactive session, attended by Executive Directors and senior management staff, ended on a cordial note, with both parties reaffirming their commitment to stronger collaboration and accelerated development within the project corridors.
