GOOD FRIDAY: NYCN AKWA IBOM CHAIRMAN CALLS FOR SACRIFICE, SERVICE, AND RENEWED COMMITMENT TO HUMANITY
The State Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Akwa Ibom State Chapter, Comrade Emmanuel Ekong, has called on youths and citizens to embrace the virtues of sacrifice, service, and compassion as Christians across the world commemorate Good Friday.
In a Good Friday message issued in Uyo, the Chairman urged young people and leaders at all levels to reflect on the profound sacrifice of Jesus Christ, describing it as a timeless symbol of love, redemption, and selfless service to humanity.
Comrade Ekong noted that the significance of Good Friday goes beyond religious observance, emphasizing that it serves as a moral compass for leadership and societal development. According to him, “this solemn occasion reminds us that true leadership is anchored on service, integrity, and the willingness to make sacrifices for the greater good of society.”
He further encouraged youth leaders and stakeholders to draw inspiration from the virtues of humility, compassion, and unwavering faith, stressing the need for collective commitment toward peace, unity, and sustainable development in Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria at large.
The NYCN Chairman also expressed optimism that the message of the cross would renew the strength of citizens, deepen their sense of responsibility, and inspire meaningful contributions to national growth and development.
He concluded by extending warm wishes to all Christians in Akwa Ibom State and beyond, praying for a blessed, reflective, and spiritually enriching Good Friday.
