When 2 FEDDI-BOYS, DANIEL and SAMSON, ‘CLAW’ as ‘WARRIORS’ after playing in the Champions League semifinal match between Manchester United(Daniel) and Real Madrid(Samson) in 2005, what follows is a dual point view football tale of morals and tradition, courage and cowardice, love and hate. Their yarn is woven by their ghost writer into UNITY GAMES, a 60k urban fantasy football story with serial potential, spun with twists of Young and New Adult threads.
Samson and Daniel take you back to the 1995 of General Abacha's pariah-state Nigeria. They take you inside the Spartan quasi-military environment of FGC Wazobia, where excitement builds as the football-addicted college prepares to host the fast-approaching Unity Games. In this milieu thrives honest but explosive captain Samson of SS3; Warrior, best player of the college team, room-head of Niger-house Freshmen, and victim of INTERMITTENT EXPLOSIVE DISORDER - a psychological condition that brings red rage. In a fit, he grossly punishes the Niger-house freshmen under his care - an act that could get him expelled if reported. The offence?: not knowing the origin of the excrement he stepped on. An excrement wrapped in his best white uniform shirt and dumped in front of his wardrobe.
Then, enter Daniel, a gifted, strong-willed 14 year old goalkeeper and tracker who receives 20 strokes of bamboo from Samson for the ‘offense' on his second day at college. He's most aggrieved, and the next day, swings the majority of Niger-house freshmen to vote in favor of a report to the principal. On the same day, before a football game on the college’s sandy volleyball court, Daniel is sworn in as spokesman. That same day, Samson scouts him on the sandy court, sees he’s very good, and helps him become the college’s No. 1 keeper. And that is when things fall apart. Daniel’s future looks bleak whether he reports or not. Will he have the courage to do it or not, given that FEDDI CODES of loyalty and nondisclosure dictates otherwise. Pariah status and suffering awaits if he does, and his mates, conscience and sense of duty stand ready to fight him if he doesn’t.
