This is a Flying fish up close. They can propel themselves out of water at speeds of more than 56 km/h. Once in the air, their rigid “wings” allow them to glide for up to 200 meters.

Flying fish, belonging to the family Exocoetidae, are remarkable marine creatures known for their unique ability to glide above the water's surface. These fish are equipped with unusually large pectoral fins that function like wings, allowing them to leap out of the water and glide for considerable distances to escape predators. They are primarily found in warm oceanic waters around the world, including the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans. Typically, flying fish can glide up to 200 meters at a speed of about 60 kilometers per hour, using their tails to generate the necessary thrust by rapidly beating the water surface before takeoff.

In addition to their distinctive gliding capability, flying fish have adapted to a variety of oceanic environments, often seen in both coastal areas and the open sea. They feed on a diet of plankton and small marine organisms, making them an integral part of the ocean's food web. Their unique behavior not only aids in evasion from predators like dolphins and larger fish but also makes them a subject of interest for humans, leading to their depiction in folklore and their role in various culinary traditions across different cultures. Their fascinating ability to glide and their ecological importance highlight the incredible adaptability and diversity of marine life.

"A dog in the Indian state of Karnataka was being pursued by a leopard 🐆, who was trying to eat it. The dog fled and leaped into the restroom of a government rest house, which had a locked door. Along with the leopard 🐆, they became stuck inside the restroom. Upon spotting the leopard 🐆, the dog took a seat in a corner and waited for the animal to attack. The animals spent roughly twelve hours in separate corners. The leopard 🐆 was then apprehended and released by the forest department team using a tranquilizer dart. The question is, "Why did not the ravenous leopard 🐆 devour the dog when it was pursuing it and had the opportunity to do so in the locked restroom?"ilet?"

An unusual encounter between a dog and a 🐆 in a government rest house toilet is the subject of this fascinating story! Readers' curiosity and discussion have been aroused by the tiger's unexpected restraint.

Fire Rainbows: A Rare Cloud phenomenon
“Fire Rainbows” or "rainbow clouds" are neither fire, nor rainbows, but are so called because of their brilliant pastel colors and flame like appearance. Technically they are known as circumhorizontal arc - an ice halo formed by hexagonal, plate-shaped ice crystals in high level cirrus clouds. The halo is so large that the arc appears parallel to the horizon, hence the name.
Brightly colored circumhorizontal arc occur mostly during the summer and between particular latitudes. When the sun is very high in the sky, sunlight entering flat, hexagon shaped ice crystals gets split into individual colors just like in a prism. The conditions required to form a “fire rainbow” is very precise – the sun has to be at an elevation of 58° or greater, there must be high altitude cirrus clouds with plate-shaped ice crystals, and sunlight has to enter the ice crystals at a specific angle. This is why circumhorizontal arc is such a rare phenomenon.

This mountain, Cerro El Cono, is located deep within the Amazon rainforest and is quite unique and enigmatic. Known as "The Watershed Mountains" or Sierra del Divisor, this region is renowned for its varied wildlife and even harbors some uncontacted Indigenous tribes.

This pyramid-shaped mountain holds great cultural and spiritual significance for the local people. They consider it to be an Andean Apu, a kind of spirit that guards the locals and symbolizes the mountain. This custom dates all the way back to Bolivia, Ecuador, and Peru's Inca Empire.
