BREAKING UPDATE ✅

MOSOGAR MONARCH, HRM UDUAKA 1, SUSPENDS EIGHT (8) CHIEFS OVER MISREPRESENTATION AT 4TH CORONATION ANNIVERSAY OF THE OLU OF ITSEKIRI
...... As He Derobbed and stripped Chief Blessing Agboma of his Chieftaincy title.

HRM. Sunday Odogu Okpurhe, Uduaka 1, Ovie of Mosogar Kingdom, has pronounced an indefinite suspension on the eight (8) Chiefs who misrepresented and impersonated Mosogar Kingdom at the 4th Coronation Anniversary of the Olu of Warri held on the 21st of August, 2025, without his consent and a formal invitation extended to the kingdom.

After a careful examination, discussion, and deliberations during an extraordinary meeting held in the Palace on Sunday 24th August, 2025, Uduaka 1, affirmed that suspending the erring Chiefs indefinitely over what he termed betrayal of common interest, trust, and gross insubordination, will serve as a deterrent to others who prioritize self-interest over that of the kingdom.

The affected chiefs are:
Chief Felix Obokor Omene,
Chief Vincent Okporua,
Chief Oghenedoro America,
Chief Blessing Agboma,
Chief Ejiro Obayendo,
Chief Omonigho Ojoko,
Chief Enor Edekpo, and
Chief Jackson Okudede.

While seven (7) of the Chiefs were suspended indefinitely, Chief Blessing Agboma, who was earlier suspended and recommended for derobbing to our Monarch, was subsequently pronounced derobbed and stripped completely of his traditional title by Uduaka the 1st. Hence, Mr. Blessing Agboma has been excommunicated from the Mosogar Council of Chiefs and Elders and is no longer recognized as a Chief and should not be addressed as a Chief in Mosogar Kingdom.

Also, Chief Oghenedoro America, who is the Chairman of Mosogar Masquerade Dance, was directed to hand over the position to his second-in-command until his suspension is lifted

Uduaka the 1st also warned and forbade all the affected Chiefs from wearing their "aghighor" until their suspension is lifted.

This decision is to restore the battered image, shame, damage, denigration, and humiliation, the actions of the affected Chiefs have caused Mosogar Kingdom.

May God bless Mosogar Kingdom.

Signed
Chief Silver Anuwa, Secretary
(Ovie-In-Council Mosogar Kingdom)

WHITE WEDDING NOT OUR CULTURE - AFRICAN GIRLS COME AND SEE.

TRADITIONAL WEDDING VERSUS WHITE WEDDING

What Africans refer to as "white wedding" is actually a traditional wedding of a certain people living in the Western world.

The name "White wedding" originated in England after Queen Victoria decided to wear a white gown for her wedding to Prince Albert in 1840.

Because marriage is as old as man, every society and people have their unique way of celebrating it.

I dare say, no particular way of celebrating marriage should be seen as the superior way just as no particular culture is superior to another.

However, we can have a more humane, incorporating, simple, and godly way of celebrating marriage just as we can have a more humane and more sensitive culture.

And so, if we must be brutally honest with ourselves, this question will come to mind:

Why should, for example, an Igbo man who has celebrated his traditional wedding known as Igba nkwu (wine carrying), where the bride, after the man must have gone through preceeding marital rituals, finally and publicly presents wine to him to signify their union, will then decide he is not yet fully married until he celebrates the traditional wedding of the people found in the Western world known as white wedding, rooted in the tradition of wearing white gown?

Or a Yoruba man, after undergoing his traditional marriage process known as "Igbeyawo" (or "Igbeyawo Ibile"), which unites not just the man with his wife but more of the two families, will then feel he is not yet fully married unless he wears a suit and the wife a gown to celebrate the marriage of those in the Western world known as white wedding?

Unless there is a good reason to do that, otherwise, it smells of multiplicity, inferiority, wastage, herd mentality, and outright confusion.

At this point, I am assuming that most of you will argue: the author is a Catholic priest, so is he against Christian/church weddings?

I think clarification and education are needed in helping people understand that every traditional wedding can be a Christian wedding.

In the simple and ordinary sense of it, a Christian marriage is a marriage between two Christians who believe that marriage is for life. It shouldn't matter if it is Igbo ‘Igba nkwu’ or Yoruba ‘Igbeyawo’ or English ‘white wedding.’ Once you put the Christian element into it, what you have is a Christian marriage. The Christian faith is meant to fuse with the culture of the people.

One does not need a suit and a gown, a bridal train or best men in suits, flowers girls, or even rings, before his wedding could be called a Christian wedding. In fact, not all white wedding is Christian wedding. There could be a white wedding that lacks all the elements of Christianity in it.

What makes marriage is simply the CONSENT of the parties, legitimately manifested between persons qualified by law. (Canon 1057 §1 ). This can be integrated into any traditional wedding celebrated among Christians.
