This is my position. We as good Nigerians must be very careful not to put emotions forward and contribute to the failure of the system.
Wike overreacted, but we must look deep into the situation that gave rise to the drama we saw.
Nigerians are so cheap to buy in terms of emotions and support.
What the retired chief of naval staff did is touting whether you used a legitimate structure, i.e., in this case, the military to harass or prevent the law from taking its cause it is still touting.
The young officer didn't also do anything extraordinary. Rather, he acted a rehearsed script for his masters. His actions depicted no service to his motherland. Rather, he stood to protect the selfish interest of his retired master and this goes to show how disloyal we are to our country.
Even the audience ie Nigerians went with him because we love drama and theatrics.
Now, this is where I give it to the Americans. When Donald Trump told the American Senate and military not to recognise the election of 2019 so Biden will be president, his vice who was head of the Senate disobeyed his commander in chief for the interest of America.
Kanayo O Kanayo could have played the role the young military boy played better than what we saw, so the boy did nothing other than act the scripts of his masters.
He was not bold because he was not on the side of the law. He stood because the military powers stood behind him. Bold people stand for what is right.
Wike on his part was too emotional and aggressive he needed to show more maturity and reservations, and he got caught up in the heat of the moment.
