Sir please by privilege am a founder and your online follower.please what's church money really for?we,ve seen and heard alot of general over seers sounding it to us not to touch church money.what happen to a founder that's just starting and is not on salary and has not had large followsrship within and outside the church? please I need clarification.
MY RESPONSE:
All pastors who came into ministry full time have touched church money.
They have all eaten church money.
Unless he or she was never in full time.
From Papa Oyedepo, to Pastor Ibiyeomie, and Others who are in this our family tree.
In 1999/2000, I was the one who told Pastor David Ibiyeomie that it is not a sin to use salvation ministries money to travel by air to Lagos. He was going by Night bus to Lagos. There was one occasion armed robbers attack their luxurious bus. He slept inside the bush till it was day. I told him, how in Winners Chapel we use church money for official logistics and travels, based on our different levels. Some will go by road from church money, a few will go by air, from the same church money. As at that time, he was over qualified for air travel, but the fear that God will strike him, will not allow him to use the money for flight.
Today, he has long outgrown anything that should be done for him with church money.
Know your level and operate within the confines of that level.
There are three groups of people that best interpret this question.
1. Those who are still paying their bills from church money. By virtue of the system and structures they run.
2. Those who started by paying their bills from church money, but later outgrown paying their bills from church money.
3. Those who are either working class or very rich from the very beginning, and have never used church money to pay their bills.
Every pastor on earth is functioning from one of the above mentioned explanations.
At some point in ministry operations, you outgrown the church income. Where you are now the one giving to the church. If you are not careful, you start saying things that are only possible from your current level. Forgetting that many pastors are not at your level. This is the stage where young pastors are mislead.
How can your wife die during labour because you had no money on you for operations? Yet there was money in the church purse.
You are very foolish.
If you can give members medical support, why will your own wife die for lack of medical support?
You heard the wrong gospel.
The issue with church finance is open Accountability.
Anything they do with church money should be written black and white for the finance department and audit department to see it.
Finally, ensure your own money is separatedvfrom church money.
