5 customers just left your business and you’re blaming it on the Nigerian economy.

You think they left because money is tight? No.
You think it’s because of competitors? Wrong.

They left because of the way you treat them.

Keep frowning like they forced you to open a shop.

Keep answering their questions like they’re disturbing your peace.

Trust me, customers don’t have the patience. They’ll happily pay more somewhere else, where they feel respected.

If you can’t respect your customers, you’ll keep watching them walk away.

Your smile sells faster than your product.

When a customer walks into your shop, the first thing they notice is your face.

If you smile, they feel relaxed.
If you frown, they feel like leaving.

A smile costs you nothing, but it makes people want to buy from you.
That’s why many times, it’s not your product that keeps them, it’s you.

Customers must meet you frowning, right?

Yes, that’s what you’ve decided to do since the economy is not smiling. But listen, customers will still leave you when

1. You act like they’re disturbing you.

2. You answer questions with anger (madam, take it easy ).

3. You ignore them while pressing your phone like the phone will disappear.

4. You behave like you’re doing them a favour.

5. You roll your eyes when they ask for the price.

6. You frown throughout the transaction.

7. You get angry when they don’t buy immediately.

8. You talk more than you listen.

The one that off me the most is when you ask customers “what do you want?” with serious anger on your face.

Business owner, relax oh…
Because if you continue like this, you’ll end up with no customers at all.

If customers keep leaving your business, look in the mirror first.

Your attitude can either push customers away
or pull them closer.
Don’t let your attitude push people away.

Don’t be cold towards customers.
Yes, some will try your patience but stay calmand be patient.

Treat them with care. Make them feel important, because the truth is… they are.

Do this, and you’ll see it happen.Customers will return,
and your business will grow.

Remember, growth doesn’t start with the product.
It starts with you.

This hot afternoon, you have gone to buy food again but not from same vendor.

WHY?
You didn't go back to the same vendor because of what happened yesterday...

You went to buy food. The food is delicious.
But the seller talks to you like you’re disturbing them...

You hear words like... The food is still on the fire, of you can't wait, abeg dey go

You can trust some food sellers... one said to my cousin "no be you send me go market"

Their tone cuts deep, sharper than a knife.

But because you needed food at that point, you endured.

You bought the food, but on your way home, you vowed never to come back again.

That’s how your customers think too.
They don’t just buy what you sell.
They buy how you treat them while selling.

This is why businesses lose loyal customers without even knowing it.

Remember to use kind words on your customers today.

Have you ever walked into a shop and felt like you didn’t matter at all?

You step in, hoping for a warm welcome but the seller doesn’t even raise their head.

You were welcomed with no greeting, no smile, and just silence.

In that moment, you don’t feel like a customer.
You feel invisible and unwanted

So you quietly make a purchase and walk out.

While on the road, you vowed never to come back to that store.

WHY?
Not because of the price.
Not because of the product.
But because of the attitude.

Remember, a smile and a warm welcome can be the difference between a one time customer and a loyal client.

Evening reminder
Customers rarely walk away because of price or product.

Most times, it’s the attitude that pushes them out.
Do you agree?

You didn’t lose that customer to a competitor. You lost them to your attitude.

Most times, it’s not your price.
It’s not even your product.

It’s how you made them feel.

Ignored their greeting.
Kept them waiting like their time didn’t matter.
Acted like serving them was a favor.

Those moments hurt.
And the truth is customers may forgive your mistakes,
but they’ll never forget how you treated them.

Small? Yes.
But these are the silent killers of customer loyalty.

This week, I’ll expose them one by one.

So tell me,
As a business owner and a customer,
what’s one bad customer service habit you just can’t stand?

Your business is not the problem.
Your product is not the problem.
But customers are still leaving.

Tomorrow, I’ll show you why.

WANTS TO SELL MORE? WATCH YOUR CUSTOMERS LIKE THIS.

Once again, the biscuits on the lower shelves were finished before the ones on the upper shelves, Chinedu, a provisions shop owner, said to himself.

They were the same price, the same brand, but why?

He decided to watch closely.

Soon, a woman with a kid came in. He noticed that the boy’s eyes went straight to the biscuits in front of him when his mom asked him to point at what he wanted.

That was it for Chinedu. He immediately understood that the biscuits on the lower shelves were selling faster than others because children could easily point to them with smiles on their faces.

He decided to move other slow-selling snacks to the lower shelves.

Two weeks later, sales went up, and the shop felt alive again.

Just like Chinedu, your customers are talking — sometimes with their eyes, hands, or even their silence. All you have to do is listen differently.

Have you been listening all week?
