She was like a daughter to me, even off camera. I remember how we worked together on Spanner — she played my daughter. That role wasn't just acting; it felt real. Cynthia had this natural talent, and such a beautiful spirit.

Her laughter could light up the whole set. She was just starting to shine, and I used to tell people, 'This girl go go far o!' But life… life had other plans.

In 2006, we lôst her to a car acc!dent. It was sudden. Páinful. Till today, it still hûrts me because she didn’t get the chance to fully show the world what she could do.

People are congratulating me today for how far I’ve come in just one year. But many don’t realize that there’s one person who deserves the loudest “thank you,” and that person is VDM.

My life had taken a bad turn. I was falling hard. People laughed at me, mocked me, used me, and never paid me. I made mistakes that dragged me even lower, and honestly, I was losing hope. Then, when I least expected it, VDM stepped in. He said something I’ll never forget: “It’s good you have a skill. Learn this, and let’s see how it goes.” That simple advice changed everything.

He didn’t stop at words; he gave me ₦1 million to start over. That one act of kindness reignited my life. I took his advice seriously. I trained, improved myself, and today, I’m trending again, not for scandals, but for doing what I love. Now I decorate events, bake cakes, and I’m being booked for major occasions. People now celebrate me, but the real hero is VDM. He showed up when everyone else turned away.

Thank you, VDM. God bless you for believing in me when I had stopped believing in myself.

There are days when I miss my old body the fullness, the softness, the way I took up space without hesitation. I miss how familiar it felt, how I knew its curves like the back of my hand, how certain outfits hugged me just right. There was comfort in that body, a sense of identity I never had to question.

But then, I look at my new body, and I see growth not just physically, but emotionally. This body has carried me through change, through challenges, through moments of doubt and discovery. It moves differently, it feels different, but it is still mine. And just as I learned to love my body before, I am learning to love this one now.

Missing who I was doesn’t take away from appreciating who I am becoming. Both versions of me deserve love, respect, and kindness. And in this journey of transformation, I remind myself that no matter the size, my worth remains unchanged -

"You know, people dey always expect say because I be Burna Boy, I go dey wave flag every time, shout say “Naija till I die.” But make I talk true, no filter I was never proud to be Nigerian. Not then, not now.

Growing up, all I saw was struggle. Corruption dey every corner, no light, no hope, no justice. You cry, nobody hear. You speak, dem silence you. As a boy wey grow for Port Harcourt, I saw the worst side of this place we call home. Na jungle, and if you no get lion heart, you go sink.

People say, “But Burna, you carry Africa go Grammy.” Yes, I did. But not for Nigeria for my people. For the ones wey dey wake up every day, hustle with empty belly, still get hope for tomorrow. Not because Nigeria give me anything but because I took everything they denied me.

You see all those politicians Dem no send you. Dem no send me. We dey on our own. I no go pretend say I love where I come from when the country no love us back. I no go fake pride when my people dey suffer every single day like say na curse.
