Imagine someone consuming a drink thatâs slowly hĂ rming their body. For years, they didnât notice any immediate effects, so they kept drinking it.
But one day, they came across a video warning about the dĂ ngers of that very drink. In an instant, they made the choice to stop.
They then found a healthier alternative and, over time, the old drink seemed repûlsive to them.
This is how knowing Jesus is. Many of us spend years living in s!n, not fully aware of how itâs dam@ging us spiritually.
But when we encounter the light of Jesus, we suddenly see what weâve been missing.
Jesus said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in d@rkness, but will have the light of life" (John 8:12).
As we grow in our relationship with Him, walking daily with Jesus transforms us. Our desires change, and the things we once clung to begin to lose their appeal.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" (2 Corinthians 5:17).
When we taste and see that the Lord is good, the pull of our old ways becomes almost unbearable.
Just as my friend couldnât return to the hĂ rmful drink once she discovered something better, once we truly experience the goodness of Christ, turning back to sin becomes almost impossible.
The more we walk in His light, the less room there is for d@rkness in our lives.
Let Jesus be the light that transforms you. And as you grow in Him, you will find it impossible to return to what once held you captive.
âTaste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in himâ (Psalm 34:8).
SHALOM!!!
