You sabi say di first private airline for Nigeria na “Okada Air”? E start for 1983 by Chief Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion.

Okada Air na airline wey dey based for Benin City, Nigeria. Di carrier start for 1983 with fleet of BAC-One Eleven 300s. Dem begin charter operations for September di same year, and dem use Queen Idia mask as dem official logo. Okada Air dey operate for 9 local airports for Nigeria.

During di time wey dem dey operate, Okada Air na one of di largest independent airlines for Africa. For 1992, dem give Okada Air permission to operate international flights. At one point, dem dey operate di Boeing 747-100 for ad-hoc charter flights all over di world, including flights wey cross di Pacific Ocean.
Dem dey carry pilgrims go di Holy Lands every year. Although di airline expand im operations, e eventually close down for 1997."

South-South Development Commission ( SSDC)

It baffles me how we indigenous people from Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa,Cross River, Edo, Delta and Rivers States are quiet while being cheated.

The Federal Government recently approved the Development commission for Geo Political regions like South-East, South West, North East etc and none for South South.

I know most of you will point to NDDC ( Niger Delta Development Commission) but the truth is NDDC is not a development commission for South South States but a commission for Oil Producing States which also involve Ondo State who will be benefiting from South West Development Commission and also benefiting from NDDC, Abia and Imo States that will be benefiting from South East Development Commission and also benefiting from NDDC while South South States will only benefit from NDDC while some states in Nigeria will be benefiting from two Development commission and none of our leaders is raising an eye ball even when the Senate President is from our region.

In my opinion, since the Federal Government has started creating a Development Commission for all Geo Political regions, Let NDDC be scrapped and converted to South South Development Commission.

If this continues without our leaders raising an eye ball, then South South will be the most cheated region going forward because all the development commissions have almost the same budget.
