STATEHOUSE STATEMENT

PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU'S EID-EL-KABIR 2026 MESSAGE

I extend warm felicitations to our Muslim brothers and sisters across Nigeria and worldwide as they celebrate the glorious Eid-el-Kabir, the Festival of Sacrifice.

We give glory to Almighty God for preserving our lives to witness this important celebration once again.

Eid-el-Kabir reminds us of the enduring virtues exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim—faith, obedience, and the willingness to sacrifice for a higher purpose. This sacred festival calls on all Muslims, and indeed all Nigerians and the whole of humanity, to embrace sacrifice, selflessness, unity, and compassion for our fellow human beings.

One central lesson of Eid-el-Kabir is the call to show mercy and compassion, regardless of race, ethnicity, or creed. There is no greater example of duty and devotion than Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to offer his only son, Ismail, as a sacrifice to Allah.

As a nation, we are on a journey of reconstruction and renewal. The reforms we have undertaken are challenging but necessary to build a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria for future generations.

Just as sacrifice brings reward, I am happy that the sacrifices and efforts we have made over the past three years have yielded a more stable economy, making our country a preferred investment destination that will drive job creation and economic growth. The walk through the dark tunnel is over, and the light is here.

I am confident that, by the Grace of God, the reforms we have diligently pursued will continue to yield improved security and greater opportunities for all.

I am aware that, despite the best efforts of our security and intelligence agencies—including the recent elimination of a wanted ISIS leader—heartless terrorists and bandits still attack some communities. I assure you: you are neither abandoned nor forgotten. We will ultimately defeat all the forces of evil.

To our Muslim faithful, I urge you to use this sacred occasion to pray for our country, for peace in our communities, and for wisdom for those in leadership.

Let us pray that those who commit crimes among us may rethink and abandon their evil ways, or face the full weight of the law.

Let us also reach out to the less privileged, share with our neighbours, and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood that unite us as one people.

My administration remains committed to building a Nigeria where all citizens can live in peace, worship freely, and pursue their dreams without fear.

We will continue to invest in security, infrastructure, agriculture, and human capital to fulfil the great promise of our great nation.

On behalf of the government, I wish you all a peaceful, joyous, and blessed Eid al-Kabir. May Allah accept our sacrifices and prayers, and may He continue to bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Eid Mubarak! Happy Sallah!

Hon. Minister Iman Suleiman Ibrahim Turns APC Primaries into a Movement for Inclusive Democracy in Keffi

By Nata'ala Keffi

In what is being described as a masterclass in grassroots political mobilization, on 23rd May, 2026 the Hon. Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Iman Suleiman Ibrahim fsi, stormed the APC Presidential Primaries at her Ward in Liman Abaji, Keffi Local Government Area, transforming a routine party exercise into a powerful symbol of inclusive governance and national rebirth.

As the sun rose over the quiet streets of Liman Abaji Ward, the atmosphere was anything but ordinary. Party faithful, women leaders, youth groups, and persons with disabilities gathered in unprecedented numbers not just to cast votes, but to witness history. And at the center of it all was the Minister herself: poised, passionate, and palpably committed to the democratic ideal that every vote, every voice, and every ward matters.

“This is not just about choosing a candidate,” Minister Ibrahim declared, her voice resonating through the cheering crowd. “This is about strengthening the very foundation of our nation. When democracy lives in our wards, it thrives in our presidency with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at helm of affairs.”

Her presence sent shockwaves of enthusiasm across the political landscape. Unlike many top officials who delegate ward-level participation, the Honourable Minister stood shoulder-to-shoulder with ordinary party members—listening, deliberating, and casting her vote with the quiet dignity of a leader who understands that nation-building begins at the grassroots.

Political analysts are calling the moment a “game-changer” for women’s political participation in Northern Nigeria. By showing up, speaking up, and standing firm in her ward, Minister Iman Suleiman Ibrahim has sent an unmistakable message: leadership is not a title reserved for Abuja; it is a daily act of engagement where policies meet people.

“We are building a Nigeria where no one is left behind,” she added, flanked by women leaders from all 10 wards of Keffi LGA. “From social development to electoral participation our democracy must work for every citizen. Today, we proved it can.”

The APC Primaries in Liman Abaji witnessed record turnout, peaceful conduct, and a visible energy rarely seen in off-cycle party events. Youth groups marveled at the seamless organization, while elders of the community praised the Minister for restoring faith in the political process.

“The Mother Hen Strikes”: Tears, Triumph as Haj. Iman Sulaiman Ibrahim Shakes Keffi to Its Core

By Nata'ala Keffi

It was not the sound of gunpowder or the blare of campaign trucks that brought the political heartbeat of Nasarawa State to a standstill yesterday. It was the sound of thousands voices chanting a single name: Iman! Iman!! Iman!!!

In a seismic political shockwave that has redefined the race for the APC gubernatorial ticket by throwing her weight on Sen. Ahmed Wadada Aliyu, the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, Haj. Iman Sulaiman Ibrahim, was not just received by her people at the Keffi Liman Abaji Ward, she was coronated.

Dressed gorgeously as usual in vibrant red attires, the Minister arrived at about 3:00PM. But this was no ordinary walk to the podium as she stepped out of her tinted SUV, a spontaneous roar erupted. Within seconds, thousands of women, many carrying infants on their backs, broke through the security cordon not to harm, but to bless.

The atmosphere was thick with emotion. Haj. Iman, known nationally for her fiery advocacy against gender-based violence and economic marginalization, stood frozen for a full thirty seconds. Tears welled in her eyes as elderly women saround her with joys.

With the turn out and massive support in this primary election for Sen Wadada, the Hon Minister’s has released a terse statement: “The endorsement of Keffi is the first domino while the entire state fall.”

Sen. Wadada main opponents including a former IGP. Adamu Abubakar Mohammed, Prof. Sani Mohammed Haruna and Dr. Hassan Liman (SAN).

A senior aide to the Minister, who asked not to be named, told our reporter: “The establishment is shaking. They underestimated the women’s vote and more than 60% registered members of APC in this state are women. Do the math.”

And in Nasarawa politics, the mother hen has finally come home to roost.

APC Primaries; All Elections Are Important, Governor Sule

By Kure Tashilane

As the All Progressive Congress party primaries are on going, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state has said that all the elections being conducted through out the state are important to him not because he is an interested party.

He stated this in Gudi his country home after casting his vote - stressed that the first election was very important to him as it was the test case that would point to the fact that everything is moving on in the right direction as far as the APC primaries are concerned.

"All the elections are very important to me. It is not just because I am in the race that makes it important. As a matter of fact, the first election was extremely important to me because; that was the test case as we want to make sure everything is actually going on well and I am so happy that one was very peaceful ...

"Not only here in Gudi but the entire zone made up of Wamba, Akwanga and Nassarawa Eggon was conducted smoothly and this one is also very important because I am in the race which is why I want to make sure it is transparent. I came here to vote and I have voted and I am hoping that everybody will follow suit" The Governor explained.

Governor Sule point out that from what he had seen so far,

"I did not ask anyone here to vote for me, from what you have seen yourself, people are voting for me because they believe that I have done well and that I can represent them well at the Senate" He added.

He urge APC stakeholders and party loyalist to continue to live in peace with one another before, during and after the primaries as they would all have to come together as members of APC to face the general elections in 2027 irrespective of what happens now.

The Governor equally enjoined aspirants of various elective offices to go through this process with open minds knowing that they may emerge victorious or end up loosing the primaries.

He stressed that he is under going the process with open mind that he might end up winning or loosing and if he looses, he is willing to support whoever emerges as the party's flag bearer for the senatorial seat of the zone.

"The idea of I must win is what is killing some of the people because when you go into an election you may win, you may loose and when you go with such impression in your mind, it okay. I have gone into an election in 2007 and I lost and I went into another election in 2018 and I won and I won another one in 2023. So, some who looses today may win tomorrow. The Governor noted.

He stressed that politicians should as well stop engaging people's children as thugs and do away with the I must win mentality for all the process to progress peacefully as planned by the parties and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

STATEHOUSE STATEMENT

PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU'S STATEMENT ON THE COMMENCEMENT OF APC PRIMARIES NATIONWIDE

Fellow party men and women, I am pleased to witness this historic moment in the annals of our party. The party we formed just like yesterday is gearing up for its fourth election cycle. It is a source of pride for me, and I believe for all our distinguished leaders and teeming members.

We founded the All Progressives Congress (APC) on the firm principles of progressive politics, consensus democracy, and personal devotion and sacrifice. This principle of selflessness and devotion has seen us go through each election cycle and come out firmer together. We must consolidate on it as we go into the primaries tomorrow.

The primary elections, kicking off with those for House of Representatives aspirants tomorrow and culminating in the presidential primaries on May 25, 2026, are not mere exercises to produce our standard bearers. They are a referendum on our unity, resilience and strength as a party. They present an opportunity to renew the bond and ideals that we share.

I am aware that, in line with the provisions of the Electoral Act (2026) and our party's constitution, leaders at various levels have initiated conversations to produce consensus candidates. It is a commendable option that would help in reducing rancour and bad blood among party members. I note the impressive progress made in this regard and encourage fellow party members to make the most of this window to ensure a seamless process and a more unified party.

Election is an essential ingredient of democracy. Where consensus fails, I urge us all to go into the primaries as brothers and sisters. All participants in the primaries, as contestants or voters, must keep the peace and be ready to play as sportsmen and women in the overall interest of the party and our country. We cannot afford rancorous conduct or the debasement of our democracy and party unity. In every contest, there will be a winner and a loser. I urge the winners not to gloat in victory and the losers to show sportsmanship by taking things in their stride and preparing for another time. The ultimate winners are those who don't choose to wreck the boat but rather work to prepare for another round. Our opponents are waiting for us to be against each other; we should disappoint them.

Winners and party leaders at all levels should reach out to those who did not succeed with olive branches. We should not play the politics of old; the do-or-die politics that we have put behind us. Politics should never be a zero-sum game. Any candidate that wins does so for all of us as a party. Those who lost out have the opportunity to appeal to the party's committees set up for redress.

To the party leadership, our governors, and other leaders, I urge you to be fair and just. You must rise above sentiment to offer all aspirants a level playing field that guarantees participation without let or hindrance. While only one person will win for every seat contested, we should give eventual losers the satisfaction of a fair contest.

The inclusion of women and youth is dear to my heart. I appeal to voters in the primaries and leaders at all levels to give special consideration to our women and youth in the contest. We cannot afford to relegate the two significant demographics of our population.

Lastly, the Police and other security agencies must remain professional and avoid acting as interlopers during this exercise. Your duties strictly centre on ensuring peaceful exercise. Nothing more.

I wish all our aspirants and party members good luck and a successful outing. I look forward to working with the victorious aspirants for the success of our great party in the general election.
