‎~ says Pres Tinubu's re-election, a must

‎Bayelsa Former Speaker, Rt. Hon. Fini Angaye visited his hometown, Okoloba and Sabagreia communities, in KOLGA Bayelsa State, he joined party members, leaders in Sabagreia Ward 09 and concluded a successful presidential primary election at the grassroots yesterday.

‎He emphasized that the President of Nigeria, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election is a must to the people at all levels noting that the President has made national development, service to humanity a top priority as such he encouraged everyone to stand firm assuring the people of continued support, unity, and inclusive governance.

‎The Former Speaker, Rt. Hon. Fini Angaye receiving party leaders at his residence yesterday, called on every member to remain steadfast and committed in their support for the party as a means of sustaining growth, peace, and meaningful development in the community.

‎In his words; "We will continue to inspire hope and confidence among citizens, bring in more dedication to service and grassroots development, I encourage you all to stand strong in support of the party as we move ahead to re-elect President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for a second term.

The people were also encouraged to remain peaceful, mobilize others at the grassroots, and work together in advancing the ideals of the party for the benefit of present and future generations.

‎On behalf of the people and the party members of Ward 09, the former speaker congratulated the President and all other candidates of the APC on their unopposed victories at the just concluded Primary elections nationwide.

‎Youth groups, women leaders, and the Ward Party Chairmen commended the former speaker for his leadership style, carrying everybody as one, bringing unity and showing great support for the Governor, His Excellency Sen. Douye Diri.

‎Proseprity Govt@6: Yesterday, as part of activities marking the 6th Anniversary of the prosperity administration, led by the Governor, His Excellency Sen. Douye Diri, the State Ministry of Health, under the leadership the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Prof. Seiyefa Brisibe embarked on a medical outreach to Ogbotobo comment in Ekeremor LGA, to further demonstrate the State government’s commitment to accessible and quality healthcare for all citizens, regardless of location.

‎The outreach provided free medical consultations, treatments, medications, health screenings, surgeries, and sensitization services to residents of the remote communities who often face challenges accessing healthcare facilities.

‎Speaking during the outreach, the Health Commissioner, Prof. Brisibe reaffirmed the government’s resolve to continue expanding healthcare interventions across the state, especially to underserved areas.

‎Prof. Brisibe highlighted that the exercise reflects the administration’s unwavering dedication to improving the wellbeing of people at the grassroots and ensuring that no community is left behind in the delivery of essential health services

‎He noted that the 6-year milestone is not only a celebration of achievements recorded so far, but also a renewed commitment to strengthening the healthcare system and improving the lives of the people.

‎Residents of the benefiting communities expressed appreciation to the government for bringing healthcare services directly to their doorsteps and called for sustained interventions in the creeks and other hard-to-reach areas.

‎The Health Commissioner was also joined by the Ekeremor local government Chairman, Hon. Oniye Ndiwari, at Ogbotobo as the Chairman thanked His Excellency Sen. Douye Diri, the Health Commissioner, for reaching out to the underserved communities for health interventions.

‎Other members of the Health Ministry's train includes the Permanent Secretary Of the Ministry, Dr. Jones Stow, Dr. Ebikapaye Okoyen, Director of Public Health MOH, Dr. Ngowari Torunana, Director of Medical Services MOH, Dr. Doubara Angaye, etc.

‎Youth Dev't: KOLGA Vice Chairman Redeem Pledge Pays WAEC Fees for Pupils

‎The Vice Chairman of the Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Council, Hon. Ann Inoru Esq, has once again demonstrated sterling commitment to the welfare and educational advancement of students in the LGA.

‎The Vice Chairman earlier made a promise to support students by sponsoring the payment of school fees (WAEC) for students across the local government area and has today redeemed her pledge in total support of the children even with extra moral classes to equip them more before the exam.

‎Speaking on the need for support, the LGA Vice Chairman promised to do more, stated that no child should be denied access to education due to financial hardship noting that education remains one of the strongest tools for building a better future and empowering young people to become responsible leaders in society.

‎The Vice Chairman, who also lost(to death) her beloved mum recently, even as aggrieved and at her trying time still pushed on to support the children.

‎According to her, the gesture is part of her continued effort to support vulnerable families and encourage pupils to remain focused on their studies despite economic challenges facing many households.

‎She added that, 'the intervention is targeted at bringing relief, renewed hope to the families involved and also reflects the local government administration’s commitment to ensuring that every child has access to quality education regardless of background in total support of the state government led by Governor, Sen. Douye Diri.

‎The Vice Chairman assured residents that her office will continue to initiate and support people-oriented programs aimed at improving the living conditions of the less privileged, especially in the areas of education, youth development, and social welfare.

‎Barr. Ann Inoru, congratulated the beneficiaries and urged them to take their studies seriously and make good use of the opportunity given to them, while also encouraging parents and guardians to continue supporting their children’s academic pursuits.

Newly Commissioned Civic Centre constructed by Engr. Prince Preye Berezi in Kaiama community.

Engr. Preye Berezi, a great son of Kaiama community, overtime has brought empowerment, employment to the youths of the Kaiama community, the LGA and the State at large.

He is well known for his benevolence nature, and may God continue to bless him.

The Civic Centre was commissioned by the Governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency Sen. Douye Diri.

Happy birthday to Hon. Seiyefa Patrick, the very dogged Youth President of Okorotomu community, Kolga.

Hon. Patrick is the Special Adviser on Political Matters to the Executive Chairman of Kolokuma/Opokuma LGA, and he's well known for his remarkable contributions to the development of the Youth.

Some of his contributions to the communities include; Distribution of notebooks for pupils in schools across the local government, support for the payments of school fees of youths, sponsorship of football tournaments and other projects all for the growth of the youth and the LGA.

He has done what others at the same position has not done across board and overtime.

‎Africa Vaccination Week 2026:
No child should die from vaccine preventable diseases, says Prof. Brisibe

‎~ reaffirms commitment, thanks Gov. Diri, Deputy

‎The Bayelsa State Commissioner, Ministry of Health, Prof. Seiyefa Brisibe, has reaffirmed the Prosperity Government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that no child dies from vaccine preventable diseases.

‎Speaking today at the popular Swali market immediately after the Prosperity Road Walk commemorating the 2026 African Vaccination Week in Yenagoa, the Commissioner emphasized that the collective goal of the government, health workers, and citizens is to safeguard the lives of children through proactive healthcare interventions, particularly immunization.

‎He expressed deep appreciation to ES and Staff of the Bayelsa State Primary Health Care Board, staff of the Ministry of Health and all implementing partners who took part in the prosperity walk and awareness campaign of the Africa Vaccination Week.

‎Reiterating the vision of the Prosperity Government, the Commissioner lauded Gov. Douye Diri and his Deputy for their prowess in healthcare development, and highlighting the administration’s focus on increasing life expectancy and improving the overall quality of life for all Bayelsans.

‎He urged community members to spread the message and encourage participation, stressing that the success of the campaign depends on collective action, the ongoing health initiatives, including the immunization campaign, all are critical pillars in achieving these objectives.

‎According to him, "as the Ministry marks Africa Vaccination Week, designated teams aimed at reaching all children, both in and out of school are set in place. Also as part of the exercise, health teams have been deployed to markets to ensure easy access to immunization services".

‎Prof. Brisibe encouraged parents and guardians to bring their children for vaccination, even if it requires temporarily leaving their business activities as the initiative also includes targeted vaccination for young girls to prevent future health conditions such as cervical cancer, other diseases.

‎In his words: I assure you all that the vaccines administered are safe, effective, and designed solely to prevent diseases, protect against illnesses such as malaria, tuberculosis, measles, and cervical cancer, thereby promoting healthier communities.

‎The Commissioner was joined by the Executive Secretary of the Bayelsa State Primary Health Care Board, Chief Dr Williams Appah, State Coordinator of W.H.O, Dr. Marcus Oluwadare, Executive Secretary, BHIS, Dr. Zuoboemi Agadah, partners and staff.
Various messages in local dialects were made by partners, with a passionate appeal to all market men and women to support the initiative by allowing health workers to vaccinate their children.

Highlights of the activity were the Vaccination of eligible children and the traders dancing alongside the team, showing their support for Immunization
